All-round enhancement of the dynamic, innovative and sophisticated character of the BMW 5 Series, attractive modifications in design, enhanced style and value within the interior, best-of-class fuel economy in all model variants, trendsetting, future-oriented enhancement of comfort and safety features, enhancement of the model’s leading position in the segment: BMW 5 Series Saloon as the epitome of sheer driving pleasure in the Business Class, the BMW 5 Series Touring as a unique combination of dynamic performance and practical variability.

New dimension of Efficient Dynamics, all power units with a significant reduction of fuel consumption, straight-six engines with second-generation High Precision Injection direct fuel injection, significant increase of output and performance combined with optimised economy, six-cylinder diesel engines with turbocharger and third-generation common-rail fuel injection, all-aluminium crankcase for a significant reduction of weight, power unit in the BMW 535d with Variable Twin Turbo (VTT) technology increasing the engine’s leadership as the world’s most dynamic six-cylinder diesel, six speed automatic transmission with optimised gearshift dynamics and direct connection to the engine as well as Automatic Sports Transmission as an option.

Sporting and elegant accentuations of exterior design: headlights and rear light clusters in technically outstanding clear glass look, chrome headlight surrounds with position light rings at the front, LED direction indicators and five light conductor rods at the rear, newly contoured air intake with upward facing design, BMW kidney grille with individual surrounds flush to the front air dam, greater horizontal subdivision and additional light contours at the rear providing an even more powerful look, striking light contour in the side-sills accentuating the car’s elegance from the side, attractive new light-alloy wheels, additional exterior colours.

Enhancement of driving and operating comfort by particularly sophisticated materials and refined style within the interior, clear lines, colours and materials providing a calm ambience combining quality and style, two-tone door panels with smooth, flowing transition to the dashboard, integrated map pockets with enlarged capacity, padded armrests and door closing handles, electronic gear selector lever for the automatic transmission with unique visual, ergonomic and functional qualities, iDrive control system enhanced by eight favourite buttons for free choice of functions.

Four interior colour worlds, six upholstery materials, six trim variants, wide range of options serving to customise the individual, multi-faceted style and appearance of the BMW 5 Series, new combination of cloth and leather in particularly sporting style, leather upholstery with new colours and seam patterns.

Wide range of innovations for enhanced driving dynamics, safety and comfort, only car in the segment with cruise control incorporating a separate brake function, Active Cruise Control complete with Stop & Go function for keeping a safe distance in flowing traffic and when driving dead slow, Lane Change Warning with vibration signal on the steering wheel, Head-Up Display, Night Vision, High-Beam Assistant and Active Steering, navigation systems with optimised graphics and full-word voice entry for 80,000 towns and cities, daytime driving lights, Adaptive Headlights, Bending Lights.

Lightweight chassis with aluminium double-joint tiebar axle at the front and aluminium Integral-IV axle at the rear, DSC Dynamic Stability Control with additional functions, electrohydraulic brake system, intelligent BMW xDrive all-wheel-drive technology with even more precise control of variable power division front-to-rear.
Shame it doesn't get the twin-turbo unit from the 335i like we were expecting images/smilies/sad.gif

The performance figures for all models looks good images/smilies/smile.gif Gee it helps when it weighs a lot less than its competitors - it requires less power to match or even beat their performance figures.

Its no M5 and without M badges, this thing is UGLY!! I've liked the look of the 5-Series when I've seen them equipped with the optional M-Sportpack. I also like the awesome multi way adjustments the seats are capable of.

I prefer the E-Class in this category images/smilies/biggrin.gif

E-Class looks as boring as shit, and with that sports kit.. it just looks plain weird images/smilies/tongue.gif

Eh, nothing new, nothing special. But the Touring does look good.

Nothing much done there really - which means I'm still torn. I have times when I hate the look of this car, and times when I really like it... I'm a confused soul.

I think the same here and I also think that Mr Bangle is getting better I mean he styled the Z4 and 335i and they look pretty cool and I actually think the facelifted 7 series looks decent
