| The S-type is to be phased out by 2007, and be replaced by a brand new car, roumored to be called XF. It will be a 4-door saloon, but it is unclear wherther it will use Jaguars proven bonded and riveted aluminium spaceframe chassis and body, or a more conventional steel chassis/body like the outgoing S-type. The release of this car is sceduled to be January 3. 2007, during the Detroit motorshow. Jaguar has only released this teaser image. For those of you who understands Dutch, Autoweek has more about this here. ![]() To me it looks like a new direction for Jaguar, this looks from that detail picture like something very clean, modern and with sharp lines. From that little teaser picture I think it looks promising.

), and the article states they will use steel for the car's bodyshell. The article also states that the concept will be revealed on jan. 3 in Detroit. And that's about it as far as info in the article goes. Can't really comment on the car, cos i've seen too little to be able to form an opinion, but i like what i see right now ![]() | |

| Banned | the S-Type will be replaced by the XF in 2010 is what i heard. the S-Type is getting a facelift for the remainder of the decade. the XF is debuting at NAIAS in January as a concept. |

| I'm not Moe | the XF sounds like a useless name. But jaguar needs this to work out for them, the x-type was mostly shit. |

| I'm not Moe | ^ we've got an X-type so i'm speaking from experience. Its an AWD poser Jag, but its not a bad car overall and it had a manual available for a while. But when you factor in the price, you realize you could do much better |

Car: 1998 Subaru Legacy 2.5L Rep Power: 41 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I never had a problem with the Aston Martin models looking the same as each other and I didn't even have a problem with the new Jag XK looking the same as the Aston's. BUT if this new XF looks like the Aston's, then I might start to get bored of it, but we'll see...can't make too many judgements based on this one pic. Kinda looks like a AM Rapide from the back But I'll keep my pants on and wait for Jan 5 before I get it in my head that it looks Aston-ish ![]() |

| For the front end I hope they have looked to the 2001 R-Coupe for inspiration. Making concept cars like this must be expensive, so I doubt how they could afford to just ditch it. It's different to the XK and the XJ, and doesn't at all look like an Aston Martin. The front end will still be debateable for many, but I think this is a whole lot more pleasing to the eye than the current S-type. My opinion is that this, with 4 proper doors an the concept special details ironed out should be the new "XF"... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
