You can't tow with a sedan/wagon, you can't go offroad, and you can't carry as much stuff.

Not to try to start a flame-war, but proper SUVs have their place and use, it's the way the SUV has been bastardized and twisted into a luxury penis-replacement that is the problem. Designed and used for it's original purpose an SUV is unbeatable.

I love it. Such an understatement, which looks nice and is a reliable VW.

I would take the wagon for more space, and it even looks cooler

90% of all SUVs sold never see sand. And not to be rude but a Passat holds a shit load of stuff all you have to do is tilt the back seat. Leg room in the back is fucking ownage. images/smilies/smile.gif

I could say the same with powerful sedans and sportcars. Not 90% but the majority of cars and sedans that boost decent amount of power barely even get used the way they're suppose to be used. Taking a car to a track is far from what im saying, only the most passionate drives do that. But most people who have these powerful cars are sort of scared to even use them for what theyre meant to be used for.

However, i like this passat. But id take a A4 or a A6 over it. The interior to me looks sort of lame.

I agree. People who buy this just want to know they have "something under the hood". Like the people who buy SUVs. But I think that you get more sporty performance with a car like this, more than enough space to carry stuff (if you actually need/can be bothered to do that), good looks (unlike SUVs) and it is just as safe as a SUV. Any modern car is safe enough for normal driving.

I think this Passat R36 will give Audi some competition if priced correctly. I should allso explain to everyone once again that I hate SUVs with a passion. The only way I am going to be in one is if they drive my dead body to the cemetary in a SUV. Thats just how much I hate them. Now back to topic.

The wagon looks images/smilies/w00t.gif... that is one badass looking volkswagen images/smilies/biggrin.gif, plus it still looks pretty discrete, some car idiots might still think its a normal passat

So very very discrete - got to love that, packs a punch - yet isn't all shouty about it.

That shiny trim on the dash is horrid though - that has to go.

there is R32 Passat in Europe, I think.. now that you got R36 in US, we will probably get R36 Golf when sixth gen is introduced.

No?
There is 3,2l Passat but it doesn't differ from the range. It's just a Passat with a bigger engine. No R32 badging or anything special goodies.
