That's awesome, I love it. It's love-it-or-hate-it styling, but it's exactly what the Focus needs to get regular buyers to take a look at it.

My God. How bad can you make a car look? Just ask the Ford designers!

That 500 looks bloody awful/boring and the Focus is just too busy for such a small car. Why not import the good looking Euro version?

I feel sick. That Focus is fucking horrible. What's the point of wasting money on making something ugly and crappy when you have a much more superior car being sold in a different market?

The five hundred looks like it's part old Passat, part ugly. 260HP + FWD = Stupid. Atleast there's optional AWD, I guess.

No wonder why Ford is in financial trouble these days.

Almost every magazine complained about the lack of power so you can't blame them for bumping up the power......

How expensive is the Euro version compared to the US version? Remember that first and for most the Focus is a budget vehicle.

Oh noooooooooooooo. Import the great Focus from Europe, especially the ST. It is not that expensive for gods sake. Did I just read "Drum Breakes" - checks back, I did, Ok on the rears but oh please! I love Focuses driven over 5000 miles in two different rentals in the last 5 months, they are brilliant, come on Ford.

Does that really matter in this type of car?

I simply can't find the words necessary to describe the uglyness of this vehicle.

Well well... I guess it's what you yanks want

It's what for thinks the U.S. market wants.....

the market places is run by the baby boomers, what they say goes, which is increadable sad because they are all getting so old now that they can't see, and things like this become the result.

Here is the thing that Top Gear always harps on; exclusivity. Everyone and their aunt drive around in a 300 over here, yes really good looking, but common. With the 500 you have less people who have been in one so it’s a surprise when they see how nice it is. I have to say it is much harder to design a large car that looks good than a small one. Look at the 7 Series.

There are quite a few ugly European vehicles so don't bring "yank" into this.

Ok, fellas, we know that it's not going to win any beauty contests.

To be perfectly honest I would rather be ugly than be nothing at all. At least ugly is something, in the past Fords have had no styling at all so although they are "love it or hate it" at least there is something there to put your finger on.

I don't think it looks that bad, but I'd never buy one because its outdated even before they start selling it. Come on, DRUM BRAKES.
One of the reasons why the Focus is so popular here is that it drives so well, due to modern (and expensive) parts. (Multilink rear-suspension for example)

I like both of them.

I am glad to see Ford listened to its customers and addressed issues with the Five Hundred. I bet this will improve its sales.

The Focus...I *think* I like the outside. Will have to see in person. On the inside, its a quantum leap forward compared to the Focus today. Bravo.

Thanks for posting these, jetsetter.

Discs are not needed on a compact auto. Drums are better as handbrakes and as parking brakes b/c while in use it doesn't wear the brake out. They are not completely useless.
