Is it just me or does this one look toned down a lot from the old ones?

Maybe it's the photos, but the front styling seems way too aggressive for the rest of the body - they don't gel. And for some reason the back just screams of trying to be Alfa.
It is an improvement though - at least this has some styling (albeit somewhat uncohesive).

I like it, but for some reason it looks like its borrowing from a number of other cars. If you squint you can see bits of Accord Euro in the front, Mazda 3 in the rear

I'm actually seeing alot of the IS250 from the rear now, its just how the lights are angled... but regardless of what it looks like, its still a really cool car.

Unloved and lacking a title
|
I'm not too keen on the business of the boot/trunk lid nor the shapes of the front and rear lights... but the rest of it is nice.

Looks kinda okay, although it looks nothing like the EVO concept they've dragged to every carshow the last 3 years telling everyone that that was how the new lancer would look.

never liked the lancer (not even the EVO, I always prefered the WRX) and doesn't look like this will change much.
The back of that thing looks like its been rear ended multiple times, the front is proportioned incorrectly for my tastes. Hopefully they've done something good with the foul interior that was on the older ones.

I liked it to some extent...but I don't care really , because it will never be available here.

Bleh, whatever. Don't really care for it until they bring out the Evolution, which is a totally different car anyways.

That's what the concept looked like:

Concept looks a million times better, but it seems like that's almost always the case. Concepts that just blow you away, then you hear they go in production, you're thrilled cos it'll be the coolest car on the street, until you see the uber-bland production version that has the same outline as the concept but all the cool details gone and replaced by boring stuff.
