Default 2009 Nissan Murano

Courtesy of AutoBlog

Quote:
Ahead of its planned LA Auto Show debut, Nissan's 2009 Murano is doing the sneak preview thing courtesy of the NICOclub forums where these pics originated. They've since been posted on GM Inside News and FreshAlloy.com, as well. Clearly not wanting to mess with success, the CUV's general overall shape, as well as that of its side glass, is fundamentally the same. The '09 gets more muscular, Rogue-ish wheel flares, taillamps that extend into the rear hatch, and a new front end that makes silver Muranos look kinda like the updated Cylon centurions from Battlestar Galactica. We don't get a good view of the passenger cabin, other than to see a panoramic roof is obviously an option. Hopefully the current car's chintzy-looking gauge cluster got flushed in the revamp, too.

I actually like (actually Love images/smilies/tongue.gif) the current Murano more... that design still hasn't aged one bit. They should have just done slight changes (Like what they did to the X-trial), don't like the new design.

Oh man, they are going to sell like crazy. Murano owners are very loyal, and they are going to flat out love this car. And just wait until you guys see the upcoming Maxima! I have seen pictures, and I cannot say much, except for one word:

Maserati.

It looks a lot like the Euro-spec Honda Civic Hatchback at the front.

I think the styling isn't very Nissan-ish. More like Toyota, Honda, and Hyundai all in one.

Honestly, the old Murano's design could have stayed Modern/Stylish/Interesting enough for at least another 5 years, that design does not look 5 years old at all, looks wise, still so much better than the current Cross-overs like the Kluger/Highlander, Harrier/RX300, X3... etc.

I didn't care much for the design when it first came out, but it has grown on me.
I especially started to like the Infiniti version of the Murano, the FX.

Apparently, the FX handles very well. Infiniti should have made it a sport wagon version of the G35 instead of a crossover.

Thats actually quite nice, I like that alot. An X-trail style nip/tuck would have probably been enough but at least they havent completely balls it up like Honda did with the new CR-V

It is, pretty much, just a bit higher on the suspension. And oh poor Nissan, they have so much trouble shaking off the illusion that the FX and Murano are platform-mates; they're not, the FX is based on the G35's FM platform while the Murano is Altima-based.
