Default ALMS GT1 Champion Corvette Z06

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/02/01/c...-corvette-z06/

Quote:
Ron Fellows history with the current Corvette Racing team dates back to its beginnings, when he helped develop the original world-beating C5.R. Fellows drove the C5.R to its first race victory in 2000 and won the American Le Mans Series GTS-class championship in 2002 and has remained an instrumental part of the perennial-champion Corvette Racing team right through today.

To honor Fellows' important role in shaping Corvette Racing into the premier outfit it is, Chevy has created the Ron Fellows ALMS GT1 Champion Corvette Z06 (that, my friends, is a mouthful of a name worthy of a JDM vehicle). Only 399 cars will be built, and they all get finished in Arctic White with Monterey Red and Victory Silver accent graphics on the front fenders. The red elements incorporate a maple leaf to acknowledge Fellows' Canadian heritage, and his name and the team's championship seasons are also also featured in Victory Red. A full-width race spoiler, "CORVETTE" windshield graphic and chrome rims complete the special edition's look.

Inside, driver and passenger ride in a red-and-black cocoon with "tech pattern" highlights. The center armrest features the Corvette cross-flags logo and is individually signed and numbered by Fellows himself. Of the 399 cars, 33 are going to Canada, 66 to Europe, and the remaining 300 will stay right here in the US. You can buy it in the spring, and fully loaded with OnStar and nav, it'll set you back $79,945. Then you can take it out and spank DB9s just like Ron does in the C6.R.

As driver-specific special editions go, this is one of the best and most appropriate ones we've seen, period.

Now that looks really cool. It's up there with the ZR1, Grand Sport and Le Mans edition vettes.

Usually these special addition Vettes are followed by mid cycle updates. Base Corvette with 425-450hp maybe? Followed by the 650hp Blue devil, Stingray, SS, or what ever the ZO6 successor is called in '09? Rumors are rampant over on the Corvette fan sites.

Nah I disagree. White looks really cool on many European cars but on the 'vette, it just doesn't work I think images/smilies/dunno.gif

at first glance it looks good. like an angry cloud that has blood starting to drip out of it. its definitely not the best hey could do. they could of painted it iridescent pink with yellow flowers. a dark dark gun metal grey tho with metal flake would really make it look good tho

The interior.

I've been wanting to know what's with the couple of corvettes that I've seen running around with those red marks on the side. Now I know...
