Mother nature had forgotten to put 22in rims on her falconGerman Tuner AC Schnitzer has taken the faintly desirable BMW X6 and turned it into something unspeakable – the X6 Falcon.

Revealed yesterday via a press release that comically labours the Falcon metaphor, this latest ‘bird of prey’ is ‘perfectly adapted to its habitat’, says the company:

“Instead of sweeping through the sky, it swept around the North Loop of the Nürburgring in numerous laps until the chassis developers were totally satisfied with the set-up…

“Now the X6 remains firmly on the ground even at speeds which a normal Falcon only achieves in a nosedive…”

And our favourite?

“While birds sing in high keys, the bass engine note of the Falcon is more suggestive of a big cat.”

Perched on its 22ins alloy wheels, (‘perched’ – geddit?) Schnitzer’s X6 Falcon is blessed with PU plastic body extensions, ‘racing’ tailpipes and lots of go-faster trim decorating the interior.

With a small power increase from a modified ECU, we’ll take Schnitzer’s word that this is a car “with no natural enemies out there”.

Best looking SUV atm, miles ahead of the ML, Q7 & Cayenne Series. It's probably the best handling SUV as well.

That said, I can't see myself driving an SUV around : (


And we can still make fun out of American SUVs, American SUVs are fugly on an entire different level.

At least the Aztek was in theory a smart idea. The X6 on the other hand, it's just plain insane.

Other than the paint, I'm sure another soul on FinalGear will agree that this X6 looks like a dog, gone mad.

See one of these in real life and you'll realise how bland 'normal' and conventional cars look, in their shapes and bodystyles.

I've concluded the X6 is all about art. It was developed with no practical considerations whatsoever, rather it's a birth of some people's irrational infatuation with the SUV, and at the same time sportscars, as glorious status symbols. They tried to combine the outer features of both, not the engineering.

That's art.

Ok, I'll probably get neg repped but...

I don't think the X6 is bad looking. It is just...pointless and awkward. But the styling itself - there is nothing wrong with it.
