From Car website.

Quote:
Aston Martin shocked the Geneva motor show today when it unveiled the Lagonda Concept, a V12-engined SUV that’s designed to spearhead the expansion of the company into over 100 countries.

And it's the first fruits of a new collaboration between Aston and Mercedes-Benz, which will provide the 4x4 hardware and engine tech - from the Merc GL SUV.

But drive the Ferrari 599 past a stationary Veyron at 62mph during its 11 second 124mph sprint and the Bugatti will catch up by the time the Italian reaches 124mph."

"I wish it would be Gumball every day."

"Anyway, you can push the Veyron into corners up to 30 percent faster than you should and the electronics will always sort you out."

There's "mad", and then there's "holy crap, that's ugly". Guess which one this is?

What the fuck? So it's basically a Merc G-class with an ugly lid on then...

What were they thinking? Jalopnik puts this alongside the Tramontana, calling them both as ugly as each other. What? That thing looks fantastic.

From the back doors forward it's acceptable...i guess...it is what it is...

From the back edge of the rear doors and back...Rodin had it wrong...THAT is the gate of hell.

^ I assume that you didn't intend to put a picture of a Corvette up?

As far as the motor vehicle pictured back on page one, fire, kill, etc...
Not only is it as elegant as a collapsed building, but it's a stupid crossovery BMW X6 type monstrosity, and to add insult to injury there's talk of a DIESEL and/or hybrid engine for the damn thing! What is wrong with these people? Diesel, ugly, hybrid, 4wd, crossover Aston Martins/Lagondas/whatever are just not on.

I'm really surprised that it's not just a Rapide with more ground clearance. I complain all the time that Aston uses the same design for all of their cars. But if this is what they come up with when they try something new, then they are better off sticking with what they know.

Please tell me the leadership at Aston really doesn't think that, if so that will be one more car maker folding. I cannot see anybody but Aston Martin fanboys who would buy an Pontiac Aztec if it had an Aston badge on it and kids too young to drive liking it. Neither of those will make the car a success.

Considering Aston loves to under perform and from the looks this will be no different I don't see how the suits can honestly think they are going to be able to take new markets with ... that.

Wow, I guess aston martin doesn't like being one-upped by Koenigsegg in the ugly department.

It's nothing to do with the G-class. The GL is a Q7 rival, a large SUV with a modified version of the M-class underpinnings.

Which means it doesn't even have off-road cred.
