| Aaah!?! Why did Ian Callum have to leave Aston for Jaguar? I'm going to be slightly blunt with what I think about it, and that it isn't the nicest Aston ever, it may in fact be, in my opinion, be one of the worst. Remember the Lagonda? I like that one. And don't get me wrong, I'm a huge Aston fan, I'm even wearing my Aston Martin Racing shirt as I speak...well type. Dislikes: The design of it just seems too fussy compared to the sleek beauty of Astons of the past. Too many creases on the whole car, gives aggressive angularity which could be achieved similarly with more curves. The side 'gills' are too big, the smaller side vents are much more sophisticated which is what Astons should be. The front lights, what the hell?!?. The light slashes down the front, again why, why copy Citroen of all companies? Side window shape, don't like the kink towards the back. Likes: The big grill, more cars should have big grills like that, (DB7 Zagato for the win), and if/when I am hired by a car company once I've passed through uni, expect to see more (whether or not they will be put into production or not is another question). The wheels and wing mirrors. I know many will disagree with me, but overall it just looks like a modded V8 Vantage. Also if you squint when you look at the picture of the front 3/4's the front does look a bit like the Maserati GranTurismo | |

| As an Aston I think its a bit ugly. If it were a car from some other manufacturer I'd say its not too bad looking. | |

I like how that one line goes through the leading edge of the door/front fender looks like a spear shooting forward, and continues through the front intake. I dig the wheels a lot, and looooove the taillight assembly. I like it a lot. I think part of the high price tag is the level of customization. Apparently, it;s a pretty big deal. |

| Aston Martin: The new Porsche. They'll keep the same basic design for 40 years. Just you wait and see the 2040 Aston Martin.

| Wow, this is epic. Aston Martin design has obviously done their homework, not fussing about with the basic proportions of how a modern Aston should look like. I think the details on this one are exquisite, makes it look a lot more aggressive than previous Astons, which goes along with the more powerful engine. The design comparisons by our resident keyboard car designers were retarded as usual. The fender vent has been an Aston Martin design feature for a long time, it's just that they have taken it longer this time, you'll find exactly the same shape of fender vent on the 90s V8 Vantage, albeit in a much smaller scale. That radiator grille is quite big though, but to cool a 7-liter V12, I think it would have to be. The only things I think is a bit out of place are the creases that cuts into the headlights, they shouldn't be there, unless the engine draws it's air though them or something. Apparently all of the projected cars - and then some - are sold. Much of the reason for the high price is the level of customization available for this car. Apparently what you see there is just a "base", it can be made into a 2+2 or a roadster, as well as other options. Also, this is a new platform, being all-carbon fiber, with a hand beaten aluminium body panels. By selling these cars at such a high price, the development costs for that chassis will already be paid for, enabling Aston Martin to use it on lesser models in the future. In conclusion Aston Marting has done their homework; Who is currently the most successful car manufacturer? - Porsche... And how do they design their cars? - Well, bingo, that's what you should be doing... That's textbook strategic management for you...

It's a great car mind you, just not at that price, but hey, if they sold it, it works for them, right?

| Normally, an Aston is a car I want to make love with, this one is no different. This one is like a a woman who does boxing, it's all fit and aggressive looking, but it still has nice hips and a lovely bottom. It is noticeably more brooding and moody than other Aston's, as well.

You know, that pisses me all the time. When ever Jeremy sees a Porsche he goes "OMG THATS THE SAME DESIGN AS THE EARLIER ONE" And the Aston Martin looks the same ALL THE TIME. ![]() | ||

Car: Grand Cherokee 4.0L (for now) Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Well this pretty much falls right in line with Aston's desire to move upmarket and produce fewer cars. With all these "halo" cars coming out over the past few years, I think the Veyron is to blame for this sudden urge for $million+ unobtainable super-duper-hyper-ultra-mega-luxury-racecar cruisers. I think the 177 needs some piano black paint and a dash of chrome somewhere. Otherwise it looks good in my opinion. |
