Audi considering CLS competitor?

looks nice. CLS concept (which is cool to begin with) add Audi's nu-uber-coolness and that RS6 powertrain (Read: twin turbo V8 + Quattro) and some added DSG, it'll be one UBER UBER UBER cool jigger. SIGN ME UP NOW!!! now just to find some money......

This is getting worrisome...Audi is now following in MB's footsteps and trying to make a different model of car for everyone, trying to bridge the gaps between every single market segment with a different car. When will BMW start following this trend? How long will it last?

Every manufacturer is going to be 'filling in the gaps' starting from the big firms like Audi and Mercedes, gradually moving down to the Japanese and Korean company's. Whats wrong with it? It gives you more choice and makes the market more competative. Those really innovative brands will shine through. Audi and Mercedes are just getting a head start on the competition.

I love the lines on the first computer image...very CLS images/smilies/biggrin.gif

But it is most likely going to look like the concept photo which is nice...but I'd never take it over the Merc in this case.

mmm sooo tasty ahhhh, they had the Nuvolari AND the LeMans concepts at the Melbourne motorshow a couple of years ago. Two of the sexiest cars in the one spot. I love Audi's design, they are easily the coolest of the German Luxo brands even if they aren't quite as dyanmic as a BMW.

My main worry about the gap-filling is that they'll cut corners to compensate for the increase in investment $, the way Mercedes did when it moved downmarket. Hopefully Audi can avoid that trap. My god, I'm sounding like an accountant.... images/smilies/wacko.gif

the Nuvolari looks amazing, i'd rather have a 6-series competitor than the CLS. an RS6 is fine as a quick 4-door

I love MB CLS! But I like Audi more as a car maker. So an Audi CLS should be a very cool thing. images/smilies/smile.gif
