| Yet another concept from Shanghai... This should be the upcoming Audi Q5, a medium - at least for us Europeans - SUV. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I've noticed the two pedals. About a meter of space, and they make it at one centimeter each other...

Car: Coming soon Rep Power: 22 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oh no, NOT AGAIN !!! When will these godawful crossover monstrosities stop !!! I have had enough of these so called SUVwannabeheapsofplasticjunk god damnit !! When has a car maker launched an actual car or a concept even that has got something even remotely to do with a normal car. The brand new Opel/Vauxhall Vectra concept and the new Ford Mondeo are the only ones that I can think of that try to bring something new to the table. Other than those two it has been these hidious things that can't go offroad because they are too weak but are just pointless in an urban environment, because there isn't a single thing that you don't get in normal estates or sedans. Well, ok, you DO get a higher driving position, big deal ?? Learn to drive or take a bus if you think you are going to run over someone because you won't see them. I get so pissed of every time I see someone driving Honda CR-Vs or Toyota RAV 4s...pointless objects. I drive a Mondeo estate and it is actually bigger in every way than the new CR-V exept the height. It's longer, wider and has shitloads more bootspace. And it's very good to drive. So why on earth would you want something like that...or this new Audi Q5 uglything. Shit....I'm so pissed off right now. Must....find....brickwall....to.....break....in... .pieces...

Car: '04 Range Rover Rep Power: 14 ![]() | Notice how low the rear seats are, obviously to enable enough head room with that horridly raked rear window. I would love to see a photo of those with the rear door open. |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() | I like the styling inside and out; it looks good for an SUV. Particularly it looks better the BMWs and the Acura RDX its up against. I admit its a seemingly pointless segment - but I kind of see the logic. My father has a spartan long dirt driveway with decent inclines at certain places that gets icy during winter - but then he has a highway cruise into a big city. He needs something with 4 wheel drive and more clearance than a normal saloon gives you - but also wants it to be comfortable and good around town. These then make perfect sense - he doesn't need the space of a full size SUV, they are too big, slow, expensive, thirst, and dimwited around town. Thus the small suv makes perfect sense in some cases. There wasn't this kind of criticism about the new Freelander (which is actually what I'm advising him to get)- which is basically just the same thing with a tad more off-road kit. That said - with greenies and fuel costs killing large SUVs everyone is running to this segment thinking thats where all the big SUV sales will go. I don't know if thats well founded, and even if it is, this market is going to be totally saturated by the time this arives. It seems to me that the Q7 arrived too late and the same thing might happen again here.

Car: 1998 Subaru Legacy 2.5L Rep Power: 41 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Agreed! They don't seat more people than the station wagon equivelant, they don't offer much more space and they're ugly as sin. Its so weird seeing this concepts interior...so use to the dark, Germanic interiors of Audi I prefer them ![]() |

.This just looks like a squished Q7 to me. It would be alot more interesting with a TDI V12 lol. I love Audi's car lineup, but their SUVs just don't agree with me.

Completely agree with you. Why the car companies are still making those stupid and awful SUV's when the market says that they are not selling well. And they are stupidly contaminating. I'm sorry but I couldn't care less about the car. Which it's a shame because it will probably make it into production (like all the SUV concepts) whereas a beautifully styled sedan or coupe will only exist as a concept.

Car: It's German, it's an estate, it's got a V6 and DSG Rep Power: 17 ![]() | As much as I love Audi, I must be brutally honest, though. I HATE THESE PSEUDO-SUVs! Most of them are nothing more than cars on stilts and very steroidal exterior treatment. They don't look good, they don't handle any better than the normal version they are based on, but above off all else, I truly despise these things because they have no off-road ability at all. As for the Concept... -Nice interior, alloys and and I suppose the engine. The rest doesn't do anything for me. It could have been better if it Audi designers have given a rear-end design similar to the Q7 or the A4/A6 Avant and not put a Roadjet Concept on stilts and steroids. Thumbs down for Audi this time.

| Dispenses buckshot medication for all undead patients. | First impressions: I thought you Europeans gave Americans crap about chrome rims, and now this? The far buttons on the center console will be a bitch to reach, especially over the gear shift lever. Skid plates are supposed to attach to the frame, not the bodywork. WAY wrong tires Trim back the chin treatment I don't know what look they were going for, but they failed.

Car: 2004 Clio dCi 1.5 100HP Rep Power: 13 ![]() | impressions, its an higher audi allroad with all the function of the rear spac chopped away with a raking rear window. Dont know what they'r thinking with the chrome rims, and we have the victorian radiator for a grille like the all-road. I cant see why they've brought this concept out when they already have the all-road, which fulfils space requirements (being a higher A6 avant) and should be decent enough for country road trecking. Oh i know, the all-road isnt big enough... externally cars that sicken me more than these crossover things are small hatchbacks hatchbacks that then have a load of plastic bolted to them and given 4wd.. prime example, the rover streetwise.. whats the obsession with off-road-esque-ness of cars lately, are our tarmaced roads becoming endangered or something?? ![]()

Rep Power: 30 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I kind of like it, stuff like the chrome rims is only to please the market and make it look fancy as a concept car, here in Europe nobody will buy them. I have to agree with Narcolepsy on the pointless part. We now drive a volvo V50 which is a very nice car with great handling. However, my father is getting a little older and has a bad back and would like a car which he won't always have to climb out of. The full SUV's are too big, clumsy and expensive, the offroad versions of stationwagons aren't that much different than the regular stationwagons, and I don't see him driving a Meriva too soon. So something like the XC60 or this one could be his next car, if the price and interior space (they look big but are they?) is somewhat reasonable, and if they could keep low on the kiddy plastic and chrome.
