Audi R8's little brother is catching up

It was just a few weeks a go we had the first spy shots of the 280hp Audi TT S sporting LED headllamps, now Audi is busy preparing an even more powerful version namely the Audi TT RS which is expected to pack 340-450hp.

We can quite clearly see in this new set of spy photos large air intakes as well as a new front spoiler. Also we can find the typical set of oval exhaust outlets, featured on all RS models from Audi . In addition to all the visible changes, the TT-RS also has bigger wheels and brakes to keep this monster TT on the road.

With the RS8 also on the way there will be no shortage of Audi monsters this Halloween.

hmmm i thought it was Audi's policy to only have one RS model at a time. as they no longer make the RS4 now that the RS6 is on the way?

I see a fatal problem with that car; its name. Said quickly, it sounds like titters, very uncool to say if you're a man.

TT-RS. No matter how quickly I say that, it doesn't sound like titters.

"Titty are us"...........if anything.....

Nothing wrong with that if you ask me. Looks like a neat little car. I've always been disappointed with the TT from a power standpoint, so it will be cool to see it with some more oomph. Takes it even further away from being a hair dressers car.

Those brake discs are huuuuuuuuge. Like how the rims on the front are different from those on the back.

I wouldn't buy one though, the curved back doesn't go well with the aggressive styling on the front, but hey, maybe it's just me.

I was really looking forward to this for quite a time, but now that they made the R8 its a bit pointless and I have lost all my interest in the TT.

I don't like how the rear bumper appears to extend lower than the front bumper. Not symmetrical, no sir I don't like that.

Default TT RS spotted undisguised!

Quote:

We've got the TT, we've got the more powerful TTS, now all we have to wait for is the super powerful TT RS and judging by these latest shots that wait is nearly over. Our spies caught this completely undisguised Audi TT RS prototype whilst undergoing some hot weather testing in Arizona.

When released at the end of the year, the TT RS will go head-to-head with the Porsche Cayman. There are reports the engine performance will be boosted to 350hp using twin sequential turbochargers, a figure that is low enough that it won't impede on the R8 but high enough to offers an attractive alternative to the 272hp TTS. All this power will be directed through Audi's permanent 4WD Quattro system and six-speed manual transmission.

Pricing for the new model is expected to start at around €50,000.

Wow, I just realised this news of the TT RS has been around way too long.
