Car: Astra SRiT Rep Power: 0 ![]() | http://carbonmotors.com/ Engineered by Lotus, this was the winner in a campaign to find the next generation of cop car for America. Looks like something from a Robocop movie.

| Well, if this works then we can finally put an end to playing the "hey, is that an actual fearsome undercover Crown Vic or just some clueless old guy?" game.

Car: 2000 Mazda 626 ES Rep Power: 10 ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hmm, it looks pretty cool. But durability is not what comes to my mind when I think of Lotus engineering. Also, whose diesel is that? |

Car: MY07 G11 WRX-TR WRB. Rep Power: 91 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I would like to add that the UAW will and do lean heavily on municipalities to keep it within the Big 3.

| Agreed. Unions have a tendency to put a stop to programs like this.

| This will never work in a country stupid enough to elect Bush as president, twice. Most Americans probably haven't even heard of Lotus. It looks like the lovechild of an Acura and a Dodge Challenger, the new saloon one.

| Unfortunately the forgot to mention the price, I suppose it'll be a "little" more expensive than a Crown Vic or a Charger. And funds do play a role in equipping a police force. Actually that car seems like an answer to a question nobody asked, if there would have been a demand for purpose built police vehicles they already would have been made ![]() | |

Car: '82 S10, '74 Yamaha, '74 Honda Rep Power: 28 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My thoughts exactly. If a lightly modified Crown Victoria or Charger can do the job, why would any municipality pay noticeably more for a car that's not any tougher or faster? |
