I have tried fiskibollur. It sucks. You should stop fishing. Or at least start making your foods with better fish, like, say, the much better tasting cod caught off the US/Canadian coast.

i agree with fiskibollur but you can't say all fish is bad, try salmon and if your fish is so bad why did we get rich of our fish?

Because you sold most of your cod (and other fish) to Europeans. Its like steaks - most Europeans believe that they've tried the best steaks in the world... and then they get to the US and discover *real* beef. images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Alaskan Salmon is much better than Icelandic Salmon.

Well, I just read the news and it seems like under the current administration the U.S. car makers will NOT get any money.

By the way: Rick Waggoner accuses the current financial crisis of being the source of the problems and doesn't seem to recognize own mistakes images/smilies/biggrin.gif images/smilies/biggrin.gif images/smilies/biggrin.gif images/smilies/biggrin.gif images/smilies/biggrin.gif

How thick can you get???

And about the Chinese... well, they COULD buy GM and Ford and Chrysler. But why should they? There are funnier ways of burning hundreds of billions, than taking over a bunch of crappy car makers. For the same money they had to invest to save some American companies, they could also develop a decent range of own cars, I suppose...

And by the way: People must be getting really desperate when they start wishing the Chinese would come and save them...

The Chinese would only be buying the names and intellectual property and shuttering the rest - so they'd only be out the purchase price of $2 billion or less.

And aside from a few morons, nobody is actually hoping the Chinese buy GM. Where are you getting that idea from?

Funny...I said the same thing when I read that they bought up MG and Rover. At least Buick, Chevy, and Opel are highly-respected and popular nameplates there, so the Chinese would at least be getting the better end of the deal for their own domestic market.

And hey! I resent that! images/smilies/mad.gif images/smilies/wink.gif

We won't need to wait too long to discover GM's fate. I suspect they will try a Chapter 11 after the bill fails to be passed. They could take advantage of the Chinese interest and sell them a few of the useless brands for money. Even Buick is better for the Chinese than SSangonsorgoddamnimpossibletorembartospell.

Chrysler maybe sold to them, but Cerberus can wait and perhaps start a Korean/Chinese bidding war.

As for Ford they have a few years of cash reserves to see if their improved quality and European imports will change things for them.

There is no way in hell the US Government would let GM be sold to the Chinese - for one thing GM has several government contracts. Chrysler they might go either way on, but I doubt they would approve it for China.

*What* government contracts? The CUCV II contract was fulfilled a while back, Hummers are gotten from AM General, and tanks are made by General Dynamics Land Systems.
