Since all the new cars will be on Fiat platforms, they should make the new Viper based on the Alfa Romeo 8C platform. Just drop the Viper's 600hp V10 in it. I wonder if it'll fit.

Maybe they will also finally give us a V8 wrangler. I know that the engine bay is plenty big enough and the rest of the drivetrain could easily take a 300hp 4.7L.

Coupled to a manual transmission. That would be amazing. Bring back the V8 Jeeps!!!

I think when Autoblog says "from Fiat" they mean "any car from Europe", so it might also be a Lancia or Alfa replacing a Chrysler model.

On thing I don't understand, why have so many different brands? I know Jeep is very different, but dodge, chrysler, etc similar ones, can't they merge into one? And instead of 3 different versions of the same car, just sell 1 version?

When I bought my Jeep (304ci powered) I was also looking at one with a hopped up 360, it was rusted to shit though so I decided to pass.

Who was this presentation exactly aimed at? Consumers? Board members? Autoworkers? Dealers?

At 7 hours long, it seemed like an overly complex and unnecessarily long-winded "plan." What they should have done is divide the relevants parts of the plan for different focus groups (ie. consumers, UAW, etc.) so we're not all confused up the butthole at the same time.

2 isn't many...Lexus/Toyota, Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura, Ford/Lincoln (mercury is on its way out, most likely), BMW/Mini (to a certain extent), VW/Audi etc etc etc.
