Well that doesn't mean anything, because Tiff Needell likes a car's handling if it can do powerslides. For example he pretty much hates the Audi RS4 Avant because it can't do powerslides and for that reason alone.

If you can't powerslide, then what's the point? 8)

Well yeah, the voice in my head tends to exaggerate a little images/smilies/blink.gif. Still, "half" is quite a bit of money when we are talking about these kind of cars. I wouldn't spend 20k on a car when I just set out to spend 10k, you know? I would be surprised if the situation is much different when we are talking 200k-100k. Even if I had the money for a Ferrari, I would probably buy the Vette. I'd want the best performing car for the price, plus I think it looks great, and i'm a cheap ass anyway images/smilies/lol.gif so it makes sense.

In that case you would either:

a) Go straight for $600k+ cars like Zondas, Koenigseggs, and SLR McLarens, or
b) Stick with a $30-40k sedan because you didn't get to where you were by spending money on shiny things.

If you have the money and you want a Ferrari, you're going to go for the Ferrari, not the cheaper car on the list. If you want a Corvette, it's the same thing. No rich person is going to get sidetracked on their quest for an Italian supercar by anything else, whether it be a Porsche or this uber Vette.

If you want the fastest car for the money, though, you could always just buy some lightweight glorified motorcycle (not that it's a bad thing) like the Atom or a Noble M12, even if 600+hp is a convincing argument.

Even if I made an infinite amount of money yearly.

Then it's simply not because of the money. It's something else that's attracting you.

Indeed. The Corvette just does something for me that no modern Ferrari does.

Now, if the competition were between the 'vette and, say, a Testarossa, it would be a lot closer. (Or against an F-40, it would be no contest at all. images/smilies/love.gif)

For me it's related to the price. I like the "every mans performance" aspect to the car. Corvette's may still be out of reach for most of us, but it's far more obtainable than a "reliable" Ferrari.

Plus it's get the most tweakable/modable engines to ever be put on this earth.

Powerslides and Drifting are far from being classified as ricer stuff. It takes great skills and unbelievable car control to pull it off, both are things ricers lack....images/smilies/lol.gif

Oh and ofcourse its not the fastest way around a track, but imo it's just as fun as a serious grip lap.
