| Dispenses buckshot medication for all undead patients. | One recall? That's not bad My Jeep had about 5 in the few years I had it and at least one before I bought it. Most were software updates, one was a wiring problem, one installed a heat shield - some of them also made additions to the owners manual.

Why can 15 year old mass production Toyota have less recalls that Mercedes' limited number flag ship car? | |

| Precicely because it's limited number. If car X is going to sell 1000 times as many units as car Y, you spend more time/money testing car X, and just what you can for car Y. Also, an SLR is pushing the boundaries of technology quite a bit more than a jeep.

There is no replacement for displacement. - Wolfgang Bernhard, Chief Operating Officer, Chrysler Group talking about the Dodge Viper SRT-10 ... I ask Herb Helbig, vehicle synthesis manager for SRT and a member of the original Team Viper development group since day one, if they'd ever thought of adding traction control. "It comes with two," he says, pointing at my feet. "Learn to use them." Got it. - Motor Trend on the 2006 Dodge Viper Coupe, November 2005 |

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | "A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one." Anyway these things happen
