Default Dodge Caliber a hit overseas

Quote:
The United States isn't the only place the Dodge Caliber is selling like hot cakes. According to a report by Automotive News Europe, the Caliber is enjoying a great deal of success in many European markets, with many customers now facing six-month waiting lists. "We underestimated demand for the product," Chrysler's Thomas Hausch told the trade publication. So far, the car has been on the market for three months overseas. Sales thus far have totaled 3,238 Calibers in western Europe. In 2005, Dodge sold 311 vehicles in total in the same market. The vehicles are selling "without any incentives," a major dealer in Paris said.

Is it the price? Perhaps the looks? To be truthful I never really liked the Caliber. Seemed a bit cheap. The last people I would think who would be buying them would be Europeans. But eh..... images/smilies/wacko.gif

Soooo many other cars I'd rather buy than that....

It surprises me that they are selling well. "Well" must mean in their 1,000's images/smilies/lol.gif

Personally, I don't like this car one ounce. The front lights are way too huge, the stance of the car is simply retarded, it just doesn't work.

I don't really like it either (it's really small!), but I guess the non-blah styling is a nice change of pace for over there and it's probably hella cheap.

It isn't a particulary good car, but Dodge has been on fire lately with some of its recent styling. In terms of cool factor, it's as good-looking as a Mini or a Beetle, two other overpriced cars sold mainly because of image.

Its like the cool wall, it has nothing to do with how good or bad a car is, just if a girl is going to squeal. This car has that factor

Oh God, you say "hella" too? I thought it was just a California thing... images/smilies/blink.gif

And the Caliber isn't bad, it's got a lot of good features that the average non-car-enthusiast will like. Glovebox fridge, iPod connectivity, boom box in the back, etc.

Oregon is not that far away from California.

Does cannibis grow from seeds or a bulb? images/smilies/lol.gif

Back to the Calibur, I don't like it simply because it disgraces the R/T badge by being offered with it. images/smilies/thumbdown.gif

The Jeep is sold under the brand Jeep
PT Cruiser, 300c, Voyager & co are sold as Chrysler.

The only Dodges sold were the pickups.......and we are europeans, we don´t need pickups to drive to the grocery store ^^
