The story I linked too is about Ferrari now claiming its is no longer a Ferrari, want it debadged and are threatening legal action, for infringing its trademark.

Ok, first of all, that's just ridiculous. You can do whatever the hell you want to a car after buying it, something Ferrari should know better with their low-end cars, but trying to fool people into thinking that this is a genuine unmolested Ferrari is asinine. And citing "trademark infringement" is ridiculous - it's still a Ferrari, not some Fiero knock-off.

Secondly, it's still a repost, you could have bumped the original thread(s) instead.

And third of all, that looks wicked! I love how the roofline slopes back gradually to the back instead of sticking out like the opera windows on a Chrysler New Yorker Brougham St. Regis Coupe.

Why's this guy an idiot? First of all, the 360 isn't rare by exotic standards. It's not like he destroyed a rare, vintage classic. Second of all, he's probably gonna get a lot more business with a Ferrari limo than a Escalade limo.

Also, I think it's pretty cool with the gullwing doors and all. Looks pretty good for a limo.

I saw this a while ago, thought it was a terrible idea.

Then I thought about it some more upon seeing this post...

And I still think its a terrible idea.

You're messing with the only two redeemable features about a Ferrari - handling and sound.

He bought the car with his own money, he's free to do whatever the fuck he want's with it as far as I'm concerned, I bet he makes a hella lot of money hiring that thing out.

The minute that he chopped it in half, it ceased being a Ferrari and started being a pile of Ferrari spare parts. I think Ferrari have every right to want it debadged.

Had a browse through his site and came across this-

http://www.ferrarilimo.co.uk/images/terminator1.jpg

That went through my city a few weeks go for a kids party. The kids were hanging out the window and they shouted abuse at me as I was waiting for a bus. I was not best pleased.

Nobody said you can still take it back to the dealership and pass it off as a stock, unmolested 360, but that's just ridiculous. So if somebody modifies a car's sheetmetal it isn't from that manufacturer anymore? If I swap a 12-cylinder Rolls-Royce Merlin 27-liter WWII engine into the back of a 1975 DAF 44, it's still a DAF that just happens to have a ridiculous engine in the back. (A DAFt engine, if you will! Zing! images/smilies/drums.gif)

I don't think he did a bad job of it, and as far as money goes there will always be some people who want a Ferrari Limo. They don't really care about cars, they just want to be in a Ferrari. I hope I never meet one of them though...

Its his car, he can do what he wants with it. Its not like you sign a contract with ferrari stating that you will not modify the vehicle upon purchase.
