Car: 01' Mitsubishi Lancer Rep Power: 21 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Rubbish Utter rubbish if you ask me, it looks like the AU series which is now about 10 years old. And the fact is that they've kept a lot of aspects of the current series. They haven't remodeled a new line, it just looks like they've done a copy/paste job. That - or some bad photoshopping Apparently this is the performance version (FPV) made to compete with Holden's HSV series (Vauxhall VXR, Monaro etc). I don't think it cuts the slack ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Previously Known As Jamesd | I don't think it's a photoshop job on a BF, if it all. Look at the doors. How come you guys get the carsguide on friday? Maybe it's in my newspaper too! D: Some better scans I found ![]() ![]() ![]() Get rid of the crap matte black plastic. Didn't work on the HSV Senator, doesn't work here.

| Well apart from looking like a panda bear, it looks ok I guess. The back also reminds me of an Aston Martin DB9, which isn't a bad thing, although the front is a bit Camry-esque. I guess they've just pinched parts from other cars to build this. | |

Car: 2006 MY07 Astra SRi Turbo Rep Power: 82 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The story printed was that the photos were discovered in a tip having been discarded at Ford. As for the car - disappointing. It's not a bad looking car - certainly very clean, but it just seems like a rehash of the BA / BF, it's not different enough, it's not new enough, it doesn't have the wow factor the VE brought. The FPV versions still look underdone, the black treatment under the headlamps is, um, strange. I want these cars to be great, but they just don't jump out and excite me.

| I really like them. At least the Typhoon looks good this time around. It's easy the best drive of the FPV range at the moment but I couldn't buy one because I'd have to look at it every day. Shit I look at one every day now without owning it and its bad enough. If they want to compete with HSV, they have to go to 20's on the GT-P and option them on both the GT and F6 and sticking with the current rim designs is a bad move too.

Rep Power: 0 ![]() | Word is that they had a very small budget (compared with last time and Holden's) to play with. Ford Australia is in dire straits. The Falcon isn't selling well (more AUs were sold) - the large-six segment has declined in market share. Unlike Holden and Toyota they don't really have an export market (excl. NZ). The same situation exists for Mitsubishi. Hopefully something good comes from those Falcon appearances in the US. http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/Ar...rticleID=41502 |

| I have to say I kinda like it.......uh......actually...... I really do like the front end tho. Still this design language they have going on at Ford seems to either produce stunners or rubbish. I'm thinking its the other way round..... You know they have tried hard when they reshape the doors. Doors are the most expensive part of a car to make. For example, up untill the VE Commodore, Holden had only used 3 diffrent door designs since 1979...... They looks very much like normal Falcon doors, with a altered skin..... | |
