Geneva '08: New Lamborghini Gallardo to be called LP560-4

The revised nomenclature comes from quotes attributed to Lambo chief Stephan Winkelmann, and accompanies the conceptual rendering you see above, although neither appears on the company's press site. Whatever the banner under which the new Gallardo will drive, it not only itself helps Lamborghini directly live up to its promise of a new model at each major auto show, but opens to the door to new future variants, which are likely to include a new Spyder and possibly a new Superleggera. We'll continue to keep our eyes and ears open.

When I went and did my tour of the Lamborghini Factory (Production line, not just the museum out the front) they allowed us into the Murcielago production line (where we saw a Reventon being put together) but they didn't let us into the Gallardo Line and for when we were walking around, there were many covered Gallardos, many of which I maintain looked different under their testing gear. My friend thinks I was crazy. Sucks to be him now.

Well evidently, it's either 4WD (Lambo) or a shitload of computers (Ferrari) to make a stupidly powerful mid-engine car user-friendly. It's pick your poison really.

Yeah, I guess this is their reaction to the reaction over the Reventon. Pretty blatant 'borrowing' of the design....but when the design looks that crazy-good-looking, I won't complain.

I think the old tail lights are a bit prettier tho. No so sure about those new ones, but it's a concept tho, so we'll look and see...

I think the design of the old rear was too square to the slanty and angly... everything else. Major improvement in my book.
