| Didn't top gear say that the "limited" regular XKR did 175 despite the 155 limiter?

| why? If it's the same engine and the same car with the limiter removed why even bother trying to sell it as another car? Also, i'm bored of manufacturers adding letters to their existing car range to make it sound sportier. XK -> XKR -> XKRS Whats next? XKRSRSRSRRRRRRRRRRRR ? | |

| God, I dunno, in the wake of the XF I find the XK almost a bit dated...... Maybe its just those pics though. | |

As for why they're basically releasing a riced model: Jaguar is desperately trying to get someone, anyone to buy their cars. Sales of the "new" XK are down 50% compared to the last year of the *old* car! Nobody wants it. Like it or not, Ian Callum's designs are not being well received by most people who are in the market. Between Callum and the current management, they're running the brand into the ground. And they still don't understand why people are staying away. I've spotted some "astroturf" articles being posted for the XF on major US media websites - they even dredged up old Dan Gurney to try to promote the thing: http://money.cnn.com/2008/03/04/auto...tune/index.htm

| Lexus? Oh shi- | I like the XK but this seems less nice. I'm not digging the body mouldings or whatever they're called. I especially dislike front lips, especially on a Jaguar which is supposed to be understated. |

Most people who "like" the car won't buy it.

| I'm not Moe | I like it better than just about everything else in the price range. Of course, I haven't driven one but the only cars I find appealing in that category are the Porsche 911 and the BMW M6. |

I never said it was better than an Aston or anything else, all I said was I liked the shape. Can you afford one? I have seen some of your posts in the Jag topics and IMO I think that chip on your shoulder is getting worse. | |

Car: Jaguar X-Type 3.0 Rep Power: 19 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | One reason why one would by a jag rather than something more exotic for the same money. Repair cost! I can drive into the city and get my jag fixed by a specialist where would i go for a Lambo repair guy. I only know one place that I would trust to do the work and thats because it does restorations of exotics. Even with that I don't think that they certified for the work. |
