![]() ![]() The 308 SW will go on sale in June. It's a little larger than the 307 SW, with a longer glass roof and new features include an opening rear tailgate glass. The second-row seats are now easier to remove, and can be arranged in more versatile combinations where two extra 'occasional' rear seats can be fitted to form a third row. The SW's wheelbase is 100mm longer than that of the hatchback, and the rear overhang 124mm longer, giving a larger load volume (up to 674 litres with the second-row seats in place and up to 2,149 litres with all rear seats removed). Engines on offer in the 308 SW are the 1.4 VTi (95bhp), 1.6 VTi (120) and turbocharged 1.6 THP (175bhp, or 140bhp with auto gearbox) petrol engines, or 1.4 HDI (90bhp), 1.6 HDI (110bhp) and 2.0 HDI (136bhp, with optional auto gearbox) diesels. The economical 1.4 HDI diesel returns 60.1mpg and 125g/km of carbon dioxide, with the 1.6 doing 57.7mpg and 129 g/km and the 2.0 HDI 49.6mpg and 150g/km (39.8mpg and 187g/km with the auto gearbox). Equipment will include up to seven airbags - one in the steering column - but full details of UK specification and pricing will be announced at a later date. | |

| Previously Known As Jamesd | Hate the rear. Looks like a droppy fat old arse. I mean, I understand the need for a low loading lip, but come on! Mitsubishi had a good idea with the Outlander, where part of the bumper dropped, like the split section of a boot lid. There when you need it, and doesn't make your car look like.. well, a Peugeot.
