There will be no such thing as a RS8.

But I feel strangely attracted to the idea of a TDI supercar... It will surely be almost as torquey as the R10 LMP1 car. But are there any tires that can take all that torque and put it on the road, or will this thing just wheelspin up to 3rd on all 4 wheels?

The SPIEGEL-Magazine had a chance to testdrive the R8 V12 TDI and made some sound samples.

Just scroll down to "Soundcheck: Audi R8 TDI" and listen to "Anlassen (Außenaufnahme)" (engine start - from outside).
This car sounds so sick - like 200 killer wasps.

Sounds quite interesting, you can't tell that much that its a diesel but it still doesn't sound like a petrol V12 - does sound evil tho

You can't really tell that it's a diesel engine apart from when the engine has just started up and idle.
