Rep Power: 25    |  Motor Show: Yamaha Gen-RYU  Yamaha's hybrid motorcycle is quite unlike any form of two-wheeler seen to date. Called the Gen-RYU, it uses the high-output lightweight compact YZF-R6 600cc engine and an electric motor to deliver the type of performance normally associated with a 1,000cc bike. The Gen-RYU is designed as a futuristic cruiser, with large diameter wheels and long wheelbase, combining the handling of a motorcycle and the comfort and carrying capacity of a scooter. A noise-cancelling system has been designed to greatly reduce wind noise, which will help with the use of a short-wave tandem intercom system, voice navigation function, music player and hands-free phone function. Other advanced technologies include headlights that turn to the inside of the corner and a rear view monitoring system using a CCD camera and LCD display.
