I love BMW camo. They should just offer a car in it.

So basically it's a shrinked 7-series?

You can say whatever you want about "lazy Audi design", but I'd rather have that than this pile of crap.

Even with the camo, I can notice a lot of styling cues from the 7-Series, especially the lights.

i'm looking forward to the back of that car. i think / and hope / that it'll look like the 7-series. overall it looks a bit more slim and flat to me, more elegant. i hope it turns out to be as good as i hope!

It will be lighter, more aerodynamic and the 550i will have a 4.4 twin-turbo V8. There will be a hybrid twin-turbo V8 and an inline six tri-turbodiesel version. BMW is also testing two engines for the M5; A twin-turbo V8 and a twin-turbo V10. It will come out with guns blazing and blow the competition away.

Yeah, why can't they use the lights from the X5 or X6? They look 10x better.

Also, why has BMW moved their front end design to ruin the flow of the car? They reduced the flame surfacing, but then messed hood close point. On my E46 M3, and those of the same era, the joint was between the bottom of the hood - below the grilles - and the bumper. Now it's more of a flat line - above the grilles - between the flat part of the nose and the horizontal sheet that makes up the hood actual.

Meh, I never cared for the attached grill on the e46 era Bmws.
They moved back to the E24, E23 style hoods (except opening to the front instead of to the back) now. With the e63 being the first modern BMW to feature that design again.

I still don't like the vertical slab of car that forms the new frontend now. Damn pedestrian safety stuff ruining car design.

Yeah. Do turbos actually increase fuel burning efficiency? Sure the engine gets more efficient regarding engine volume, but is it also more efficient per fuel volume?

The major advantage in fuel consumption I can see is that you have a crap small engine when off boost that doesn't use much fuel, and then when you hammer it and get the boost you have an apparent engine that is twice the size but also drinks twice as much fuel. Also all the turbos, the required infrastructure and the intercooler add to the weight of the cars, and they can be quite maintenance intensive.
It makes for good EPA mileages though as they are mainly driven at relatively constant speed with slow acceleration and therefore no boost.
