Hey Hey, finally someone who thinks like me. Couldn't have said it better. (Well, actually I did but aparently every car Mercedes puts out nowadays is a straight Toyota rip-off). But hey, I'm sure we all remember how Lexus came out with their own original concepts back then.

isn't merc known for their evolution and improvement.

if their cars look japanses it's just because merc doesn't do the job good enough, caus the others are catching up

Your right, Merc is known for their evolution and improvement.

But hows Merc not doing the job good enough? And how are the others "catching up" if all they are doing is aiming for a German-like design?

Mercs design's are generic and if it so happens that more and more companies are designing their cars in a similar fashion, Merc, or any other European manufacturer for that matter, will have to change their own design to stay at the top.

Either way, a Benz is a Benz and even if all badges are removed and you are teleported into the future, you will be able to identify a Benz.

Well think of it, you have a chance to buy a new Audi A4 or Mercedes C-class, which one would you take? Audi may look sportier and much younger than a Mercedes C-class, but Merc's C-class is an unique, which innovations and styles cannot be moved on another badge. Without Mercedes-Benz safety innovations, Ford would still be without airbags,ABS or ESP.
