They don't really do anything, its more like a visual guide to see if the person talks out of their ass often or not. I don't get too hung up on my rep but I hate it when people neg rep anonymously purely because they don't agree with my opinion.

In saying all that, I know for a fact the EVO X service intervals have been made longer (I believe 7,500kms instead of 5,000kms for basic oil changes) Things like gearbox and transfer case need to be done every 20,000kms, diffs every 30,000kms and AYC/ACD every 40,000kms. Compare this to say a GTR and it's nothing. When you get to 80,000kms in your new GTR, the engine has to be removed and rebuilt, and the plasma cylinder bores need to be resprayed at an astronomical price. I guess what I'm saying is, the servicing will be no worse than any other high performance car, and don't listen to what Jeremy Clarkson says. If anyone's read any of his books you'll know he always exagerates and talks straight from his ass a lot. You have to sift through the bullcrap with Clarkson to find the nuggets of truth. |

I love me a X. They're decently fast cars just stock too.
If they sold one in America and covered under warranty, I'd snatch up an FQ model. But, North America Mitsu will deny warranty claims for having the wrong filter in your car. |

I think the Dodge Neons got a turbo'd version of the 4B12 didn't they? The Mitsubishi collaboration with Chrysler finished a long time ago tho.

The reliability for AUDM and JDM EVOs is impecible. Mine's over a year on since I've had it now, 15,000kms and no problems. The previous owner had it a little longer than me and no problems either, and mine's modified. I've had this discussion on here before with someone else. You guys must get shit quality gear in the states. I know of plenty of EVOs on the forums I frequent who are pushing 400hp and more and don't have any reliability problems either.

M3/C63/RS4 people appear to be missing the point.
The EVO is designed for this road: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=5...26886&t=h&z=16 And while you may just be able to keep up with it in summer, you will be slaughtered in winter. |

For pure driving enjoyment I would take RWD any time. And as far as that goes an Exige S costs about the same as that FQ400 and would be infinetly more interesting. |

If Mitsubishi UK had the chance to do up this car, why didn't they do up the displacement at all? It seems like a relatively good solution for more power and less lag, and making more use of a bigger turbo. Though I couldn't say what that would add to the price...

It would add a lot to the price. For a larger displacement, the engine would need to be rebuilt with a longer crankshaft, then custom made pistons, rods, studs etc to suit.

so many evo's are bought second hand in the US. then people dont mod them correctly, slap a huge turbo on it without the resulting mod's needed and blow the clutch, diff, transmission...
then blame it on shit mitsubishi quality... and then i read on evom.net about people who have properly taken care of the car, hit 100K miles in their evo's no problem.

I'm gonna fart in this thread now: I've spent my day parking Lancers at work and I have yet again changed my mind about which looks best, the sedan vs hatch. The hatch has better side profile but ugly ass rear lights and the sedan looks alright in the front and end but side profile is Lincoln Town Car. The Evo's in the lot were naturally great to drive, but I still felt let down for the (potential) future owner because of the interior which, quite frankly, isnt up to par. But 200 hp per liter, holy shit batmans.

If I were playing a videogame, I'd pick the FQ 400, but in real life, I'd much rather have an RS4.
