Nissan GT-R Spec-V details surface (w/club racer mule video)

We've reported previously on both a club racer and a V-Spec version of the Nissan GT-R, and it's now apparent that they are both very different beasts. The V-Spec variant will be in the same mold as the previous versions offered, with Japan's Best Car citing a 220-pound diet, 30 more horsepower with upgraded binders and suspension components.

The racing version, previously shown in spy shots, is equipped with a full roll cage, a significantly revised suspension and a nice set of Volk TE37s that are also featured in last week's Best Car article. When we'll be seeing either version is an open question.

Man- i wish they were as anal as Mazda for the weight saving. 220lbs doent seem like much, but I guess it helps.

have you ever tried lifting up a 200+lb obese person before? not fun at all. 220lbs might not sound like alot because of its 3800lb stock weight and its less than what other supercar makers take out of their top-of-the-line cars. but 220lbs is a bunch considering its coming out of a car that already did 7.38 around The Ring.

It may have been improved...but the driving in that video sucked. The line they drove made no sense at all.

You'd have to get one of those in black because it would hide most of the awkward bits.

Yeah, it cuts the weight down to what? 3,600-3,700lbs! Man this thing is a pig. A scary fast pig, but whatever.

It would still be ugly, but possibly tolerable, if all black.

I still think that brochure is a photoshop. A lot of details just doesn't match up with the camo-ed car you see in the spy videos.

its a club racer mule. it has nothing to do with the Spec-V.
