Default Poland is going to make a supercar... and its gonna be an Italian one

Quote:
Veno Automotive is a new car company from Poland controlled by the UK-based private equity fund Heros Capital. In spite of being a newbie, the Polish firm has revealed an ambitious plan to build a limited production supercar that has yet to be named. We’ll simply call it the Reventon Replica as despite Veno’s ramblings about a unique design inspired from jet fighters, it doesn’t take a car guru to see that it’s a total Lamborghini knock off.

According to Vento, the supercar will compete against the best of the best including Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Koenigsegg, Ascari and Pagani. And how do they intend to that – apart from forging the Reventon’s design that is? First of all, the Polish firm says that it has developed a high-tech chassis capable of handling over… 1,000 HP.

Moreover, the Polish supercar that will be available in coupe and roadster versions will also feature a carbon fiber body parts and brake discs along with an array of gadgets like a night vision camera with pedestrian detection, onboard computer with internet access and doors that open with the touch of a button. Power will come from three versions of the Audi’s 4.2-liter V8 engine developing 350, 450 and 700 HP.

Vento supports that in 2009 it will also offer the ability to choose from an array of Corvette C6 engines including the Z1’s LS9 6.2-liter supercharged V8 (did anyone ask GM?). And since it’s all talk, allow us to inform you that Vento has also begun research on an electric-powered version of the supercar equipped the latest generation batteries. The Polish firm says that it plans to hand build a total of 50 examples (up to 10 - 12 units a year). As they say, a little day-dreaming never hurt anyone – that is unless Lamborghini's execs take a look at these designs…

Wow, that looks even more like a Reventon than I would have expected. I can understand taking some design keys, but that looks like someone squinted a little while looking at the picture of the Lambo.

That said, it does look quite good.

I'd love to see it compete against the real deal.
I wonder if they will fit leafsprings to it (you know, making cheap sports cars) images/smilies/wink.gif

If they do an electric motor, why can't they do a jet turbine? That would be so cool in that car, despite the obvious plagiarism.

If anything it looks even better than the Reventon. But if it goes into production I think the axis powers will once again be going into Poland.

Awesome looking car, that is the Lambo, sorry Veno, that Batman should use in the next film.

No but seriously, it's even more aggressive looking than the Reventon, quite impressive for a spyder.

It looks actually better than the Reventon, but the fact it looks like the Reventon makes this worthless.

All the while, there are thousands of designs from young designers floating around the internet,
which would do the whole supercar thing much better.

Before I read the article I thought that an Italian company was building Reventons, not just knocking them off. Wow. Poland: redefining blatant plagary.

Hmmm. Who said the copy had to be worse than the original? I think it looks even better than the Reventon, it doesn't have some of the slight awkwardness that the Reventon has to it, despite being as totally-jaw-dropping awesome as it is.

wat

Poland: The China of Europe.

You make me ashamed of my heritage... But this car still gives me a boner, and i still want to roll around scaring people with it, when they see a jet fighter in their rear view mirrors.

They use Audi engines and Audi of course own Lamborghini, so if Audi would have something against this car, they would not deliver engines.images/smilies/dry.gif Or maybe they haven't seen the drawings yet...images/smilies/mrgreen.gif
