Early look: Porsche Boxster RS 60

Porsche has released images of its Boxster RS 60 Spyder ahead of the car's December reveal at the Bologna Motor Show in Italy. Inspired by the Porsche Type 718 RS that won the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1960, the limited edition Boxster S will be painted in GT Silver Metallic and feature a Carrera Red interior — although Dark Grey leather is available.

In addition to special badging, the Boxster RS 60 also wears a unique front spoiler and 19-inch Porsche SportDesign wheels. The Boxsters suspension has also been tweaked — now featuring Porsche's Active Suspension Management system — and a sports exhaust raises the flat six's output to 303 horsepower.

Porsche will limit RS 60 production to just 1,600 units. The special-edition Boxster will be available beginning in March in the UK and Ireland with a starting price of £45,400.
