Viper comes to mind. How desperate are TV producers and studios these days? Imagine what show ideas fell short of bring back Knight Rider...

There's something else about this car I don't like. The original K.I.T.T. somehow didn't look completely like a Trans Am. There were subtle things that made it different. This new one looks exactly like the dozens of normal Mustangs I see driving around. That makes it lose a lot of "cool points" for me.

Agreed.
They only sliced the bonnet abit, added some gay stripes and some shiny lights. images/smilies/mellow.gif
The end result looks ordinary.

Many of you are probably too young to remember, but having a Mustang as a KITT car is nothing new and has already been done almost a decade ago.

Quote:
Team Knight Rider (TKR) is a syndicated television spin-off series of the Knight Rider franchise that ran between 1997 and 1998. TKR was created by writer/producers Rick Copp and David A. Goodman, based on the original series created by Glen A. Larson, who was an executive producer. TKR was produced by Gil Wadsworth and Scott McAboy and was distributed by Universal Domestic Television and ran only a single season of 22 one-hour episodes before it was canceled due to poor ratings.

Good god I forgot about that abomination of a show....

As a Ford fan, I'm not thrilled with the GT500KR playing the part of KITT. KITT has always been a sleek and slippery looking car (the original Trans Am, and the whateverthehellitis Knight Rider 2000 car). There's nothing slippery about a mustang. A Z06 would've been a better choice for it. Now as for KARR, the GT500KR fits, but as the lead? No.

This new series will suck donkeyballs and ruin all of our childhood memories of Knight Rider. I emplore all of you, to not watch it. Let it run for 3 episodes before it's thankfully canned.

Yup, i grew up with the original show as a little kid, then when the TKR show came out, it looked awful from the start and i hardly watched it. It's understandable such a POS of a show would fade from the public memory, but it still makes me laugh that ppl get all up in arms about a Mustang becoming KITT when they don't realize its already been done under their noses.

Makes me think about kids who think the current US involvement in Iraq is the FIRST Gulf War.

K.I.T.T for 2007

http://www.dymag-usa.com/archives/Koenigsegg.jpg

Was that so difficult for the producers?

put yourself in the producers shoes and think about factoring in the cost of not just one, but multiple Koenigseggs needed for filming, stunts, crashes, etc.

yeah, basically its not worth the cost. even with mockup versions. Plus im sure they want to use a car from a big car manufacturer because of the sponsorship and $$ they'd receive due to advertisement of their product.

Yeah I know, so a Ford GT won't count either. BUT A MUSTANG?!!!! images/smilies/wallbash.gif I'd rather they use the Chrysler Crossfire, but thats just me.

Apart from the DB9 (isn't it owned by Ford?)maybe the new image of KITT should be a hot hatch.

heh my mate put a chasing red LED bar thing behind the grill of his M-reg saab 900 2.0t, he fitted a crummy toggle switch to the underside of the steering colum to turn it on an off too.

even that is a better choice of car than what they just did with that mustang.

It's not that it should be a GM car, but that it should be a slick looking car. The Mustang really doesn't look slick. As much as people want the new Camaro, it isn't as slick as it should be. A Corvette, Viper, or similar car would be great.

Comedy Option: New Hyundai Coupe. The RWD one.

this is the 3rd time a Mustang has been used to play K.I.T.T.. in 1994 in the Knight Rider 2010 movie with it being based off a Foxbody, in '97/'98 in the Team Knight Rider series with it being an SN95 Cobra, and now with the KR. and as i pointed out before, its not always been a GM product with the Knight Rider 4000 being based off a Dodge Stealth.

I would have liked to see a Z06, but I have to laugh at all the people treating the old Knight Rider show like it was something they should be trying to recreate. images/smilies/lol.gif
