Since the launch of the compact Tuscon, Hyundai is to differentiate the Santa Fe further by making it larger, and moving it further upmarket.
On sale from spring 2006, this new Santa Fe will share its Sonata-derived underpinnings with the next-gen Kia Sorento (see separate story); it will be a seven-seater with a third row of folding seats, and be higher-specified than ever before, with a higher-quality interior finish. It will also lose its more bulbous curves, gaining a more traditional look as Hyundai hopes to court more conservative American SUV buyers. The Santa Fe will be built at Hyundai's plant in Montgomery, Alabama. ![]() ![]() ![]()
