Ready for summer: The Peugeot 207 hatchback goes into production imminently for a launch in early 2006; its coupe-cabriolet counterpart is following behind and will be ready to go on sale in time for summer 2007.
Larger than before: Like the hatch, the 207 CC is a little larger than the 206 it will replace, and it will share some of its underpinnings with the Citroen C3. More solid drive: With its metal folding roof, it should be a much more solid drive and have a more refined feel than the scuttle-shake-prone C3 Pluriel, however. Selection of engines: The 207 CC will come with a small selection of the more powerful engines in the 207 range: expect the 110bhp 1.6-litre HDI diesel, as well as 2.0-litre petrol models, including a version developing 190bhp-plus. Further down the line, there's talk of a Ford Puma-style mini-coupe with a fixed hard-top, which could be the sportiest Peugeot of them all. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hopefully the roof won't be leaking as much as it was on the 206CC - anybody noticed the new French number pates with three digits at the end (formerly, there were two digits indicating the region the car was coming from)
