Default Subaru Impreza WRX CS9 Revealed

Quote:
Subaru has announced the specification and pricing of the new limited edition Impreza WRX Club Spec 9.

Priced at $44,490 recommended retail price, the comprehensive package includes chassis, driveline, exterior and interior upgrades – adding more performance, styling and luxury to the already iconic Impreza WRX.

New 18-inch wheels and tyres provide a sharper, sportier feel and when teamed with the STI suspension kit lowers the car by 15 mm, giving a more aggressive stance.

Handling is refined through an increased spring rate and a lower centre of gravity.

Aerodynamic efficiency is enhanced with the addition of an STI front lip spoiler. Crafted in a matt black semi gloss finish, this tough but lightweight addition improves both stability and cornering.

Adding to the sporty feel is a short shift gear lever, featuring a more rigid & direct shift feeling, incorporating reinforced bushes, a shortened shifting stroke and STI aluminium shift knob.

Inside comfort levels are paramount with leather trim and an electric sunroof fitted as standard.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia said: "This Club Spec is our best yet. It delivers enormous customer value and it will be a very quick seller."

Only 300 vehicles will be sold and are available as a manual sedan in WR Blue or Obsidian Black. A unique CS9 Club Spec grille badge has been designed for this special edition vehicle.

They are on sale now.

Yes, it is sexy and fast but for $44,000 I would expect a little boost in hp.

Doesn't seem that you get all that much more while you pay a lot more money than a regular STI. images/smilies/dunno.gif

I am guessing those new wheels are a big part of it.

The stock STI wheels aren't exactly cheap, so that would maybe make a $1000 difference (and I think that's a generous estimate).

Someone please tell Subaru that their new grill looks like a pig snout.

Perfomance wise, I would love one.

Guys, read carefully, it's AUD44, 490, not USD.

Direct link to the Subaru Australia news section: http://subaru.com.au/news/?newsid=12575

P.S. WRX is AUD39, 990 and STI is AUD56, 990 (from here)

With that front spoiler and the lack of the huge wing, it looks great!

Edit: Now that the pricing issue's been taken care of, there's a limited-edition version avaliable in America known as the Impreza STi Limited (ooh, who saw that coming?). Exact same thing as this, but avaliable in white and silver instead. No idea at price, but looks promising. A shame that they're only making 800...

This car doesn't cost $44k in America, that's $44k in Australia. In American money, this car is about $33k. Still, it's far too expensive, especially considering it's not an STI. For the same money, I could buy a basic STI or Evo.

This isn't an STI... images/smilies/wink.gif No where on the article does it mention it being a new STI, except the front bumper.

^ I am a fan of Scoobies but I agree about the redesigned snout. This one is the best looking one I have seen but still. ... Is it coming to the UK anyone know? I am saving up for an STI for when I retire. images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

I have, and it looks like the bastard child of a Toyota Sienna and a Porsche Cayenne bred with the illegitimate lovechild of a Pontiac Aztec and Ford Edsel.
