Having owned 2 of the originals, have a guess if I like this or not.

GRADITIOUS AMOUNTS OF WANT.

The most important thing is Toyotas finally making a 'fun' car again, which is most excellent. A lightweight small RWD (cheapish) 2 door coupe is all good, and would be easy to modify. And it doesnt look thaaaat bad. RX8 looks worse than this imho.

Now then they just need to start making the 'FT-11 Supercharged' concept

And bring back pop-ups and call this version the Levin. Who cars about aerodynamics / H&S

WANT!!!!!!!!!!

This and the LF-A make me so happy! My family has owned only Toyotas and Daihatsus for some time (and that I grew up at a time when Toyota actually competed in lots of different motorsport categories with success), so its nice to see something sporty which I could seriously consider as my next car (or additional car to my little Echo).

Now, price it at 30K AUD here and consider one sold Toyota!

It does look good, hope they don't water the production version down too much.

The exterior shouldn't change much if Toyota's past production concepts are any indication. The Sera, FJ Cruiser and XYR(7th gen Celica) barely changed from the concept version style-wise. The interior...likely won't be like that in production ie.the zippers, the carbon fibre, the oddly placed signal stalks, etc. probably won't be on the production car.

And to think that I had given up hope of Toyota ever building anything interesting again.

Those live shots look fantastic. Thank the lord Toyota can eschew those bubbly degenerate cars and carve out something like this.

We'll see. It's sure to be a hit with the Boy Ricer crowd. The best thing they could do for sales is to feature the car in the next Fast & Furious movie and take some of the sales away from the Civic.

If those sums add up it needs very little else. I wouldn't care if it came with only two seats that don't adjust, no heater and plastic windows. Please please please Toyota, don't fuck it up by adding pseudo-luxuries you think people need before they'd consider buying it that add to the price.
