BTW, California is probably the MOST friendly to speeders. I know quite a few who have passed cops doing 15 over the limit and the cop do nothing but continue to cruise.
I agree with this too, cops seem to ignore a lot of speeders on local and freeways here, things in places like OH you'd get busted for doing 5-10 mph over.

Yeah, Number 1!!

Oh wait...

Screw it. I know 99.9% of the drivers here suck donkey balls. Probably the reason I have a exhaust leak near my catalytic converters (Constant WOT passes, swerving across 4 lanes, just to get away from 4 idiots who don't know the speed limit).

I've gotten cut off more times than I can count. And even though I've got a 'official' looking car, I still have people who will not move out of my way. (It is usually easier if I wear sunglasses though, I look more official)

Oh yeah. I pass radar traps all the time with people doing 10 or 15 over and they never go after anyone.

We're Number 1!

I think the results are a bit skewed: On my daily 40 mile commute to school I see only around 4 marked police and numerous unmarked Crown Vics, and I unconsciously check the median after every crest and every large bend on the Parkway to make sure there isn't a State Trooper in the turn-around.

However, I have yet to see a stop light with cameras on it (except for brand new ones), there are no speed cameras (everyone moves at over 70mph on the 55mph Parkway, many times right past police) and I have never had to deal with random checkpoints (Though I have heard of people being stopped in them in some smaller towns). Yes, cellphone use is banned, but you see even the police on their phones on the road. Radar guns are used, but radar detectors are legal...

The only thing that's a real pain is actually getting a ticket. Even if you are completely innocent, you are pretty much screwed at that point and will lose a fairly large sum of money in almost every outcome. Though, I always thought New York was worse... images/smilies/tongue.gif

75 is my limit. Cops don't even bother you.

As for actually getting stopped, your own attitude will be the judge of what happens.

I was stopped last Sunday for doing 73 in a 50 in a safe zone...

But because I was pulled over immediately, had all windows down, and had my interior lights on...as well as telling the truth and being respectful. I left with a 54.00 ticket for 'obstruction of view' for the fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview mirror. Other than a 154.00 ticket and 4 points on my liscense. images/smilies/mrgreen.gif
