LOL

"Kuga" means "the plague" in most Slavic languages.

Is it any worse than the alphanumeric jumble that most companies prefer?

Does Qx56 or G35x inspire any kind of emotion in you?

Alphanumeric jumbles have been around for a while though: Bizzarrini 5300GT, Nissan 240Z, Ferrari 275GTB (or most Ferrari's for that matter), those are all hardly boring or uninspired.

They're hardly boring and uninspired because we know the cars themselves are hardly boring and uninspired, but their names are still dull. American cars of similar vintage may range from being mediocre to thorough shitheaps, but names like Cougar, Firebird, Cyclone, Marauder, Star Chief, Wildcat, Fury, Javelin, Challenger, even Turnpike Cruiser are far more evocative and imaginative than "325i".

True.

But you could argue that those companies don't vacillate on names because, in the grand scheme of things, it's more about the car than the name. I dunno, it's a good debate that could go one for a long time.

But I can't agree with Turnpike Cruiser. That's just stupid.

It's better than PT Cruiser, though images/smilies/tongue.gif

Actually, this isn't the first time that Ford have taken a normal word, spelt it wrong, and called their car that. How about the Ford Ka?

I have to agree. I would much rather have a Infiniti Skyline than a Infiniti G35. (Or an Infiniti Gloria rather than M45).

Personally the name doesn't bother me that much but the actual ford 4x4 is sexy! to be best looking out of the 4x4

maybe we will see the Honda HIV soon (it should be called Honda SIDA here...)
the Nissan Ebola would be good too.
The smaller cars could have less expresive names - Toyota smallpox, or Ford Flatulance...
I have a cool name for a small car that has double meaning - Shupak.images/smilies/lol.gif

It may not be the name of a disease, but Honda already sells a car called the "CR-V EX" images/smilies/lol.gif
