Anyone Here Listen to Metal?

I'm a big metal fan, but I find it hard to broaden my litening when none of my friends listen to metal nor do any radiostations play metal. (except one, on a late night program)

I'm here to ask... who listens to metal? and what do you listen to?

I really like Industrial and Progressive metal. But I'll listen to anything that is good.

My favorite bands are:
Fear Factory
Slayer
Dream Theatre
Sepultura
Metallica

Recently I have really been getting into White Zombie, and this other band called Winds of Plauge. WOP is really epic sounding and I love listening to their whole album together because it all ties up nicley.

I have enjoyed fear factory from time to time, the heaviest I get into metal is In Flames and All that remains, is that stuff even considered real metal? im completely oblivious to this genre.

Yeah I enjoy Metallica and Yngwie Malmsteen a lot.

I'm also a fan of NWOBHM...you know Iron Maiden, Manowar etc..

I LOVE Dream Theater. I've seen 'em live twice, and they rock.

I tend mostly, though, to like my Metal and Hard Rock tinged with a little industrial, or "coldwave" as some might call it.

Hell yea!! I'm into almost all kinds of Metal! Although i prefer the faster/heavier kinds at the moment

Me too. If you never listened to it, I would recommend Helmet´s earlier albums.

On a somewhat related question: Is Avenged Sevenfold considered metal?
If not, what is it?

This said, i am an ex-contributor to a metal magazine, have been a full-blown metalhead (incl. denim vest full of patches and all) for years, but recently settled down to old-fashioned rock and roll and rockabilly.

Viking/Folk metal, here. Pretty much all I listen to is viking/folk metal or the occasional neo-folk dark ambient.

Is Cradle of Filth metal or contempory darkwave or is it all the same?

Dream Theatre and Rammstein are favourites. I like Metallica but they are too mainstream so therefore I dont :p

yay! another lamb of god fan : )

and hatebreed does fall under hardcore. but I'm not such a big fan of hatebreed. One or two good songs and that's about it.
