Just got back from this movie. HOLY SHIT! I was think I was laughing the whole time during this movie, and probably crying half that time. My stomach and cheeks both were sore as I was walking out....just too funny. This movie should be illegal.

It had its moments, but I wasn't too impressed.

That was pretty good. Also, Pam is really hot in the movie.

Oh i wanna see this, Will Arnett From Arrested Development (he played G.O.B) is in it and yeah i love Arrested Development. Speaking of him does anyone watch 30 rock? he was in the last episode, he was cool.
I think i shall acquire a copy of it.

Yeah, Arrested Development was pure gold... too bad the general American public seems too dumb to support such genius shows. I recently got Andy Richter Controls the Universe and it's somewhat similar and just as hilarious.
Regarding Blades of Glory, it's hard to believe that Will Ferrell is still capable of making funny movies. Might have to check it out, but I don't think he's been funny since Old School in 2003. |

You didn't think Anchorman was funny or Taladega Nights?

Yeah, I've never thought he was very funny. SNL was going down hill about the time he came on, and he certainly didn't make it any better.....ELF was probably his best role just because he fit the idiot requirement

True, I think Elf was probably his best role after Old School... and that's not saying much.

Will Ferrel and similar "comedians" were never funny at all and SNL was always shit. I don't need to see this movie to confirm either of those points.

Well, SNL was pretty funny back in the early 90's (basically "before your time" bartboy, lol) when Adam Sandler, Mike Meyers, Chris Farley, Dana Spade, Phil Hartmen, Kevin Nealman etc. were on there. When they left, it really started to suck.

Thing is, I've see what people call "the good years of SNL". Though not as terrible as the current crop, it's not what I would call good. I dunno, maybe I'm too critical when it comes to comedy.

I feel the same way, but I think, as Jeffy says, it's from before our time so we don't really get the full comedic effect. If you look at those early SNLers like Hartman or Nealon in the work they did more recently, you can tell they're genuinely funny. Poor Hartman...
The only funny current SNL member is Darrell Hammond... he does the best impersonations of anyone, bar none. |

Yeah Bart, you have to remember that comedy 15-20 years ago was not exactly the same as comedy today. Back then, SNL was hilarious for that time. A movie like Wayne's World was incredible in the early 90's, but looking back on it from a current perspective, it's certainly not the same as it was then.

What's that you say? Another Will Ferrel movie?
The question now is would I rather crush my testicles in a vice or place them in a food processor to avoid seeing this film. Decisions, decisions.

Hilarious. I'm glad to see the kid from napoleon dynamite is getting picked up for bigger films, sort of a rags to riches thing.
Also, most of the movie takes place in Colorado, FTMFW!!! They showed the Coliseum and I was like, "WTF? I work there!". |

I seem to be one of the few that hated Naploeon Dynamite. I'll probably rent this movie. Not a fan of SNL, but I don't mind Will Ferrel that much. Haven't seen Talledega Nights, and didn't like Anchorman though.
Will Arnett was pretty funny on 30 rock. I'm really enjoying the NBC comedy block..Earl, 30 Rock, and The Office.

ND was ruined for me by kids always telling me it was the funniest movie ever made, well it was funny, but no that funny, thus it was an epic disappointment for me.
