I'm personally wondering this and looking for some new music.
What albums would you guys say you really like? There's lots of good singles out there but youi would never pay to buy the whole CD... I'm talking about great albums that hold together well and you consider favourites. I'll think of something in a bit.

![]() Seriously, I get bored of albums quite quickly after they've been played ad nauseum in the car. The last one I enjoyed was Dallas Crane - Factory Girls.

My favorite "whole" albums...but they may not be to your tastes. I'm a sort of "rock" guy who has nearly 2,000 CD's from every genre...except not too much rap. I enjoy Hip Hop (as a musical style) but I don't like Rap (as a vocal style)
Morphine: "Yes" and "Cure for Pain" Sorta...laid-back, dusty moody jazzy... Vast: Visual Audio Sensory Theater Think...NIN meets Enigma...only cool. Zero 7: Simple Things Their first album is the best... Guns and Roses: Appetite for Destruction Tom Waits: Mule Variations It was like a "Best Of" of all new material...all great songs, and they all flow. The The: Dusk Mogwai: Pretty much any album. This is of course, not bothering to mention any Led Zeppelin before "Houses of the Holy" or the first 4 Black Sabbath albums... |

Music i listen to all the time includes various old rap albums like "The Chronic", "All Eyez on Me", "East 1999" etc. But my driving music is very different
Driving music: Casino Royale soundtrack, A Beautiful Mind soundtrack, Road to Perdition soundtrack (current most listened to), Memoirs of Geisha soundtrack, and any LOTR soundtrack |

I haven't listened to full albums for several years now...
But my all time favourite album is Stevie Wonders Songs in the key of Life. Not a single bad song on that album. |

awesome cd
classics can't do bad, the older, the more i listen to them: led zeppelin, the doors, jimi hendrix, pink floyd, pixies, ... and i listen a lot to jeff beck (but no one knows him over here ), his cds where there is no singing, realy rule (wired, you had it comming, jeff, more?)for newer ones: eels, muse, radiohead, the white stripes, ... and if you're searching for some good (not to hard) rock songs, you realy should check out dEUS. they're a belgian band, but they rule! (and when you're doing so, also look for soulwax --> rock band from the 2 many DJs guys) |

The Who-Tommy and Who's Next. Quadrophenia has a few more clunkers, and the rest are very hit and miss. For great driving music though, New Order's Get Ready has really fast-paced songs. And if you'd rather laugh at your music, not much can beat Nellyville or Bat out of Hell III: The Monster is Loose.

Id recommend these U2 albums being a massive fan-
The Joshua Tree- Often said to be the bands best album, might be might not be but its amazing none the less. Filled with some of the best songs ever, I recommend "Where The Streets Have No Name" as its on of U2's classics which is always played live , "With or Without You" apparently this song is great to play during sex . Other great tracks include "Exit", "Red Hill Mining Town" and "I still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"![]() Achtung Baby- Other fans say this is there best album as its more "complete", its very rock n roll and some of the songs are simply amazing, "One" needs no introduction as its so dam good, "Even Better Than The Real Thing" has a very strong guitar best throughout and great lyrics, "Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses" a lot like The Real Thing and just as good. ![]() Pop- Some fans would say "why" to me ever recommending this, but its actually pretty good( well some of it, some songs are so bad you should never hear them.....EVER) This is the most un-U2 album ever and always will be the "rebel" in there collection, but it has some of there great songs such as "Discotheque", "Do You Fell Loved", "Wake Up Dead Man", "Staring At the Sun" and of course the insane "Mofo" . The rest suck trust me on this. ![]() The other two big ones "All That You Cant Leave Behind" and "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" are great as well but have a few crap songs in them mixed in with the great ones, Atomic Bomb is the more rock one and ATYCLB is more a forgiveness for messing up Pop and the tour. |

Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots. Holy shit, this album alone could made into a film.
Led Zeppelin - 4. Can you argue with this? I mean, c'mon! Ben Fold Five - Whatever and ever amen. Angst never sounded so good being beaten out of a piano. Iron Maiden - Powerslave. Probably the highest zeineth the band had reached. Miles Davis - Kind Of Blue. You can just imagine being in Times Square in New York City in 1955. This is BeBop, this IS the birth of cool. Period. The Allman Brothers Band: A Decade of hits 1969-1979. I will keep recommending this album every chance I get. It is to me, the greatest road trip compilation album. John Lee Hooker - Travelin'. My parents had this album, and I remember it scared me as a little child...JLH sounded like an alien. The whole album is him, a guitar, and a pinewood floor to tap out the beat. Issac Hayes - Hot Buttered Soul. "Walk on by" or "By the time I get to Phoenix". This album is for any man that has been spited, humiliated or dumped by a woman. Every Jimi Hendrix album. Bob Marley and Wailers - Legend. A good intro to BMW. No, not good. Perfect. Tangerine Dream - Phaedra. Just because it is so weird. |

When my dad was studying in London, he had really noisy neighbours that used to have massive late night parties. So in the morning, he'd play that album full blast with the speakers aimed at the floor (the neighbours lived on the floor below)

Bruce Springsteen - The River, Born in the USA, Greatest Hits.
Dire Straits - Love Over Gold (only 5 songs, but 4 of them could be considered all-time classics of the band), Brothers in Arms. Money for Nothing and Sultans of Swing are great too, being compilations of their greatest songs. Deep Purple - Made in Japan (gotta love that 15 minute version of "Space Truckin'") Blind Guardian - Imaginations from the Other Side, Somewhere far Beyond and, if you're a Tolkien fan, Nightfall in Middle Earth. Queen - Greatest Hits I and II, A Kind of Magic. Iron Maiden - Powerslave (jayhawk is right, this is pure gold) and Best of the Beast (2 CDs of their very best). Eagles - Hotel California. Prefab Sprout - From Langley Park to Memphis
