General Anime Thread

First off, yes, I know there have been a few dedicated threads about specific anime and aspects thereof, but they usually don't last long, hence the creation of a general thread for anime discussion.
So...uhh...yeah...

So as to not sound like a fanboy (too late?)

If you like anime and you can withstand nightmare and paranoia fuel, i can strongly suggest you to go out (to the internets) and watch Higurashi no naku koro ni, it is in my opinion quite a good anime with a good story, well developed characters, and at just 55 episodes long it should be rather easy to follow if you do not have that much free time available.

EDIT: i tried watching FLCL, and to thin k i thought higurashi was mindfuck

I didn't watch ZOE Dolores, i. But I did watch ZOE 2167 IDOLO and that was pretty excellent. Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner was an awsome game - even more awsome in Japanese. images/smilies/tongue.gif

Any suggestions on what's good this season? I'm only picking up Kimi ni Todoke simply b/c I'm following my favorite fansubbers, Eclipse, since they typically pick good shows to sub. Oh, that and Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood since I never watched the first make of it.

Work has taken me away from this hobby of mine. T_T

One of my current favorites is a Senshi anime. I won't say which one, but it's good.

Also just watched Lupin III vs. Detective Boy Conan. Good times.

I remember one anime i used to watch a long time ago. It was called Tenchi Universe or something. crazy stuff.

I wonder why almost all of the anime has it's very own deities that makes it tough to me to see the entire episode without closing the tab.
Photobucket has removed almost all higurashi images. Hmmmmmm.

Lucky Star is a great anime, but it has a lot of otaku references that you have to know in order for it to be funny.

For example, you'll have to watch Intial D to get this.

Lucky Star was Kyoto Animation taking a day off from serious Kanon/CLANNAD tear jerkers.

Hayate the Combat Butler has its fair share of references too - if you can sit down for all its two-three seasons depending on how you look at it.
