Some new info about GT5
Quote:
http://www.planete-gt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1565

french vidéo game magazine " JOYPAD" goes to Japan and meet K Yamauchi at polyphony digital and give us 3 pages of interview and some more scoop about GT5:

- All cars and tracks of GT4 will be in GT5
- more cars and tracks should be downloadable
- 4 driving views
- damages for the race cars
- All Ferrari + F1
- new city tracks
- online drivers : 12 to 20
- changing weather during race

"for Porsche and Lamborghini, no confirmation"
"an employer take the pad : black screen , lot of lines in japan , nothing to understand except "indianapolis""
"I can comfirm a game will be out between GT4 et GT5" K.Y

the article ending whith 2 more interresting paragraphs concerning the problem whith F1 right and another about damages.

it's only a translation of the link

There are some people on this board who can speak French, maybe they can offer a better translation?

Only damage on the race cars? images/smilies/sad.gif

I hardly ever use the racecars in GT4

Rest of the stuff sounds pretty sweet

Changing weather is a nice addition that I think it long over due considering the power of the current generation of console.

I was hoping that Forza 2 would have it but they didn't put it in. The rain etc. in the PS3 F1 racing game is quite good so it would be nice to have it come and go over a long endurance race.

I think this is also related to those scans. You can see one of the interiors in the video. Sorry it's in french but what it says it's more or less what the info in the first post said.

i do not like the sound of this. i hate hate hate hate hate hate hate the idea of buying a game for $60 (plus a system but whatever) and then having to buy more stuff for added features (other than online play). i suppose i could get behind the idea of more tracks. but something about having to buy more cars just rubs me the wrong way. i think it's that most of my favorite cars are not the kind that will show up in the main game so i will have to buy them seperate

Whats the problem? it's not like they are stripping down the game and sell you those extra cars for profit. They have already stated GT5 will include ALL cars from GT4 + more, that's already 500+ and there's not a single racing game out there that comes even close to the car choices available in GT4, future car purchase is most likely going to be newer models that are not currently available.

I don't really see the problem in being able to buy new cars, that weren't available to the game designers at launch. It would make the lifespan of the game much longer...
How cool wouldn't it be, if cars like the RS4, E92 M3 and so on was available for GT4 now

Yeah, downloadable cars/tracks/features aren't a bad idea. GT and Forza are realistic to a point where the next step in realism would be getting into a car and actually going for a drive, thus, there really wouldn't be a point in making a GT6 or a Forza 3 other than for more tracks and more cars, which would easily be accomplished through downloadable content.
