I can post a time when my exams finish tomorrow images/smilies/tongue.gif

Until then, I've begrudgingly allowed my work to maintain my focus.

I got a little bit of play time today when I bolted (test fit) my frame together to find the measurements of the replacement wooden panel. images/smilies/smile.gif

Loaded llpc60's ghost and did a 2'24.843 (14th on rank board), not as fast as llpc60's nor as I had hoped as there are still room for improvements. I have already taken the frame apart and will cut and vinyl the replacement piece sometime this weekend. Will try again when the cockpit is ready.

Meanwhile, here's a video of me in action:

setup looks awesome, I wish I had room for one like that.

good lap time! and I think if you smooth it out and it will be a lot quicker (looked kinda harsh)

make sure to take pics of finished setup because it looks very nice!

^ He's got a clutch though.

My bad habit of braking with my left foot with my Momo wheel is hurting me when I try to drive a real manual car. images/smilies/lol.gif

In some parts of this track, you need to brake without changing gears.

I'd be in danger of never leaving the house with that setup.

Hmm, I seriously think the 76 Ferrari 512 is the best car for drifting, not very expensive either at 102k

I would imagine a combination of the two would be best. When you don't need the clutch, brake with your left foot so you can quickly get back on the throttle (and more accurately). Otherwise, use heel and toe so you can brake and throttle as well as push in the clutch.

my first time was using flappy paddles, so I felt bad and had to do it again. using the clutch and H shifter but still left foot braking, I got a time of 2'23.6 (ish lol I dont remember). without left foot braking I dont think I could have managed that time.

too bad I fucked up at the end because I think It would have been .2-3 faster. either way now I can relax knowing my time isnt with flappy paddles =)

edit: tip = on the start/finish stretch, dont bother with 5th gear. in 4th, revs will cut out a fraction of a second before needing to slow down for the first right hander.

This should tell you how serious/good I am at this game: I play with a controller and an automatic transmission. images/smilies/sad.gif

Same here, plus I've only got a poxy little 14-or-so-inch telly to play it on. Though I do hook up the PS3 to my surround sound. That's the only part of the game I do properly... at the moment.

I play on my 24" monitor (1080p) + my surround sound computer speakers via optical. It doesn't help any though -- I still suck. images/smilies/sad.gif

Woke up early to go to Cars and Coffee this morning (great weather, awsome turnout) and also got my cockpit finishedimages/smilies/smile.gif. I'll take pictures sometime today, probably start a new thread instead of going off topic in this one.

I know about left-foot breaking in FF and AWD, but I am not very good at it and doesn't come to me very naturally. I am usually in RWDs and like llpc60 said, found the AWD R34 terribly boring.
