edit: Holy shit this is hard... and youre 6th???? damn. Im 23rd right now. Got to do 1.3 secs better... argh this controller business is hard ! lol

Im going to keep trying for about an hour, then I have to work, but Ill try again tonight.

Im going to stop because my hand hurts lol

.2 faster than that is my maximum, but doing it would take a while I think. I always fuck up at the bend before the long straight (not the start/finish line)

controller sucks, its fun but too hard =(

Hehe, well, once I figure out how I can get a comfortable and stable setup on the wheel I'll join you guys with the wheel. I personally don't like playing with wheels because I'm lazy, but it seems that all the best players are playing sim mode, and I don't want to be missing out on any of that action

My main problem is getting a seat that's low enough, and comfortable enough to let me access the steering wheel which is basically mounted on a stool that's the height of my dinner table chairs. If I can get a solution working for that, the pedals will be easy to work with, since I like to left foot brake, the positioning is not so critical.

I had another go in the RX-7 tonight, but I wasn't able to improve my time (yet). I'll keep trying though.

You got the NTSC version, right? If so, I'm afraid we can't go head to head online.

yea I got the downloaded US version. I tried racing online once, but it was too laggy, so I never tried again =(

how long ago did you try it? is it your internet connection, or something server side?

I noticed the lag for the first couple of weeks but it seems to have smoothened out a lot (but to be fair, I have not played online much for the past couple of weeks)

I think a month or 2 ago. I dont like the physics for online play though. I play RACE07 (pc) when I want online action, so I never bothered to try it again.

the cars is GT are planted down and nothing upsets them so it sucks to play online, its a bump fest

I take it you tried the beginner or amateur races, which are set with standard physics? Try the pro races. They do not only use professional physics (and that's exactly the same physics as in offline racing), they also have tire restrictions. The 500 performance points class uses N tires only, the 600 pp S tires, and only the higher 750 pp class does slicks.

And you should only experience lag if your connection is really bad, otherwise it shouldn't be a problem whatsoever. You occasionally run into a laggy person once in a while, but it's the exception. They're constantly working on the game in the background, so it's ever improving with every small update. Come online, man!

When was the last patch? Booted up my game and it wants to download (but it keeps stalling out). Wondering if it's one from a while back (haven't played in a while) or if it's the August 1st update containing Top Gear or not...

Their servers were heavily overloaded this morning. Managed to download it now.

According to their news though, paid video content (i.e. Top Gear, etc.) has been delayed.

OMG this game is the SEX. (And that's not a term I use lightly.)

I so need a PS3. I was going to buy one after my B-day but since my dad pissed off my aunts and uncles none of them gave me money so I only got money from like 3 people instead of like 7 so I only have like $200 and that's mostly still from X-mas.

And BoyFatt (my brother) is useless and won't have any of his money left after a month.
Oh, and my dad is really pissed about the whole situation 'cause he thinks we're spoiled brats for wanting to sell the Wii which I didn't even want in the first place.

I bought a PS3 just for this game basically, but I've found it kinda boring. Too hard to make good money to beat the game.

GTA4 is 100x better, even from a driving point of view IMO. Sure, it's no sim, but it's so fun just cruising around, hitting jumps, etc.

My brother got to play GTA4 quite a bit and he liked it, though couldn't decide if it was better than San Andreas, and my one friend was very dissapointed. I think it looks pretty good though. Those are basically the only two games I want to get a PS3 for, but my brother has a few that he really likes as well.

Do you guys think it's worth buying a PS3 for?

The game is a lot better than San Andreas IMO, but the radio stations don't hold a candle to SA.

But anyway, we're getting off topic.

The new intro for GT5P is kinda cool. I guess they added it for the people who downloaded the game rather than getting the disc.
