To me it sounds like he is referring to end of march, rather than end of november. although, I am hoping for end of november images/smilies/biggrin.gif

I don't get why everyone is saying end of November or later?

30 Nights before 12 Months pass? I interpret that as December is the 12th month so that 30 days before would be early November right?

And 96 tracks?! That would seem unrealistic unless most of them are small. Unless its different variations of the same track are included in the count. How long have they been working on Grand Turismo 5? I know they will take most of Grand Turismo 5 Prologue's content into Grand Turismo 5 because it will quintessentially be the same game but that just seems so much for one game. Then again all Grand Turismos have been astonishing.

You could as well say that he is talking about 11 months from now, which would be march 2010. That is open to interpretation.

96 will most likely include all versions of the tracks. Remembering that a lot of the tracks are available in both directions and that there are some tracks with more than one layout, 96 is plausible.

Even still that will be quite a feat. I will love it so much if they come back with a rainy night track like on GT3.... ahh, the bliss of driving a 700hp RUF around those corners. Wasn't there one on GT4?

Lets see: 96 total tracks.
If each track can be run in reverse, that means only 48 unique tracks
If just half as many of those are multiple configurations of unique tracks that means only 24 different locations (< probably closer to reality, but we'll see)

I think my biggest hope is for the private races/ creating teams. That way I'll be able to play my friends that I don't live close to. According to the cryptic message, it sounds like this is going to happen, too! images/smilies/biggrin.gif

You can not apply that logic, because all real life tracks for example only have their real direction. Only the fantasy tracks were available in two directions. And even they had exceptions. Also, not every real life track has several layouts, and not all possible layouts will be in the game.

Where I'm getting at is that 96 tracks will be plenty even with all directions and variations. Or maybe 96 tracks means 96 actually different tracks without variations. But PD has always counted all variants as one unique track, so I suppose 96 is the total number including all variations.

EDIT: >check this list<
Quote:
Here's the "confirmed tracks" list again. All the tracks from GT4, TT and GT5P, as well as tracks seen in the weather menu and tracks announced in other ways (Top Gear for example, and Madrid).

(• means we've had this track in previous games, including Tourist Trophy; ○ means new to Gran Turismo)

54 venues so far, 12 new to the series
72 tracks, including variations

So if the 96 rumor is true, there will be about 25 more in addition to this list.

I am really happy to hear almost all tracks I love(d) are coming back. I do miss one in particular from the first series that I haven't seen since though. I need to find a good copy of the original to bring back fond memories.

I do have two questions for some who might remember this though, am I mistaken?
Grand Valley Speedway -The original Grand Turismo had two, one short and one longer, right?
Special Stage Route 5 -Once again, wasn't there two version of this course on GT? I'm not talking about Stage 11 either.

Note that this isn't an official list, it's just what has been confirmed for GT5 directly and indirectly yet. And yes, there are tracks missing from previous GT versions, because noone has confirmed that they will be in GT5 as well. Therefore, they are not on this list yet, which doesn't mean they won't be in the game.

Yes there were 2 versions of the Special Stage Route. The original route was the one in GT2 (Clubman Stage Route 5) and consisted of a long stretch, tunnel, left/right/left chicanes and then left again back to the long start stretch).

And the second one was in GT3 (this was the Special Stage Route 5) where after the left/right/left turns you went right under the highway and you did a very sharp turn to then (after some turns) get to the final stretch.

Hopefully midfield will be the gt3 version and not the gt4 versions. Very happy tp see El capitan, grand valley speedway and spa included in the game.
