According to all we know to date, I think it's safe to say that we'll see GT5 within this year. I don't know whether the release will be worldwide though, so our versions might come a few months later.

Blizzard is far worse. Their games take freaking forever to come out.

I gotta disagree, but am too lazy to argue my point.

I wonder how many people will come on this forum saying "stig is shit and can't drive etc." after testing cars on the TG track in the game. I promise you guys it'll happen. Mark my words.

Blizzard generally just puts a long ass away release date. They don't promise a game 3 years before they have any intention of having it near beta release.

That makes me happy.
If any features between psp and ps3 he promises come to fruition, pigs will be flying.

IIRC GT4 was supposed to have online multiplayer. Sure if you use the multisystem connectivity of the network adapter and some fancy ass software, a router, and a pc with dual nics.

So this is mainly something that people want for online gaming? I do most of my racing against the computer.

Yeah, about that. I really hope that they make it so that laps done on the TopGear test track have a standing start. If they nake it a rolling start (as they so often do) then it will completely defeat the purpose of having the track in the game in the first place.

Well, it's a secondary effect; but the main point was made by someone else I think. Damage makes you take more care about the way you drive, and running into the competitors is one of the things you avoid more when the penalty is more severe than a small time penalty.

Though there are n00bs who only exist to wreck people and see the "awesome" carnage they can create.

I am quite excited for this game! The wait is worth it if they fix all the bugs and make it as good as they can.

Ahh, I think I understand your point however it would still feel premature and if they were as lazy as Slant 6 they might release a crappy uncompleted game but that would be highly doubtful since it is Polyphony Digital.

Copied from the Forza 3 thread, i was wondering what your guys take on this is:

From this one of 3 things may be assumed:

1. GT5 will not have damage

2. GT5 will not have damage for all cars

3. GT5 are super-butt-buddies with nissans GTR division, and have privileges that microsoft does not.

4. GT5 will never be released to the public.

As far as I know, GT5 will only feature damage for racing cars. At least that's what's been said some time ago.

It is true that Polyphony Digital and the Nissan GTR crew are butt buddies (considering PD made the electronic display for the GTR) but that's the only good assumption.

I'm not sure where the source is, but it seems to be going around that street cars will not have damage, but race cars will, which is understandable. I'm not sure why some people are so uptight about their cars having damage in a game though.

If I remember correctly, Kaz said it in an interview.

Maybe because it has been in almost every racing game for 10 years, and has certainly been in most of the racing simulators in the past. GT is really the only series to now have damage that I know of. I am sure there are a few others but the big name games all have damage now and have for some time.

Yeah, it was posted quite a few pages back via YouTube (which had it in HD as well).
