Why are all the GT PSP demos driven by idiots, I mean how hard can it be?

Also, is it me or is the High Speed Circuit wider than it should be?

I know this is a revolting idea because I'm seriously thinking of buying a PSP to play this game but maybe the handling is rubbish images/smilies/ohmy.gif

I think just the race and rally cars will have damage, none of the production cars will.

The damage is disappointing, it looks too basic in that video yet it looked good in the E3 trailer.

And yes, it seems that the damage is restricted to just race cars, disappointingly:

I'm sorry to say, but that looks pathetic. All these years in development for that? GTA IV is much better than that. Plus notice when he hits the wall the first time...same collision physics as GT4. I'm very disappointed. I bet they had sound disabled so we couldn't hear the same tire screeches from gran turismo 1 again.

GT5, GT2 with more stuff.

And that damage modeling looks rediculous...Forza cars have better damage modeling (and now they'll have cars that actually roll over.)

Note that this is a demo which does not represent the final state of the game! PD is not even officially there!

The game is set to be released in December, this must be close to the final project at this point. Or are they going to develop a whole new physics engine + damage rendering system in 4 months?

Problem is that you assume this demo represents the most current state of development. For all we know, it's a demo of one track with a handful of cars cobbeled together to be able to show anything on a game fair they don't really have a part in. Wait what they come up with on TGS in september, and then sample their efforts.

I won't comment until we get to TGS this september. We didn't even get a trailer showing the rest of stuff that has to be shown yet so...

After so many years of waiting and speculation and rumours, it would be almost impossible to actually live up to the expectations surrounding it. Perhaps, this trailer is what we needed to bring our hopes back down to earth. Maybe a video which shows it being not very good, on purpose so that when the final thing comes out and it's better than this, we are happy. If you see what I mean. Especially if you study the initial screenshots from the first trailer showing damage, it's much more detailed (scratches, crumpled bonnet) than this new video suggesting that this supposedly newer video is not entirely representative.

But then, what do I know!
