Info on Bond 22 (the automotive side)

I was just browsing the Bond 22 Wikipedia entry when I noticed some pretty interesting tidbits:

It appears that a major sequence in the upcoming film has a requirement for a long stretch of winding mountain road...

Also, the DBS will make a return, along with some Ford GTs! (the Wiki source is kinda iffy though)

Holy fuck the GT thats awesome. Bring on the cars guys. I hope these are in the movie and that the car chase scene is longer then 10 seconds and fucking devastation.

Ford signed a deal with Casino Royale and 3 other films. but the thing is, AM practically cut all ties (except 20%) with Ford. that means Jaguar would be out also since they were just sold to Tata Motors.

Aston had been the Bond car long, long before Ford bought them. I'm sure any deal they have is with Aston and not Ford.

Are you sure about that? Even tho Aston and Jag are no longer part of the Ford umbrella, the Bond movie makers might be still under contract to use Ford cars for the next couple bond movies. Im not sure a major auto maker like Ford wants to lose to publicity and let them back out of the contract.

I dunno about any Ford contracts, I just meant the "use Aston cars" is probably through Aston and not through Ford.

Used to be, but remember that there's been many, many Bond movies without Astons - individual or blocks of Bond films have their "Bond car" rights sold to the company that bids the most, or at least that's how it's been for modern Bond films. The deal for Casino Royale and most likely subsequent films was purchased by Ford, not Aston. Hence the strong Ford presence in the film outside of the DBS.

But Bond's car was a Bentley before Dr. No even became a movie.

In Goldfinger, Q explains that the Bentley is being fitted with upgrades and presents Bond with a loaner car, the DB5.
